Aluminium is lightweight, stable and cost-effective and therefore the standard for everyday and sports use. Carbon reduces weight and dampens vibrations, but is mainly used in road bike and high-end areas. Steel offers high robustness and elasticity, but is heavier. Titanium combines low weight with high durability, but remains rare due to cost.
Bike handlebars differ greatly in their shape.
