Schindelhauer frames are built from high-quality aluminium (AL6061-T6) that provides both stability and impressive lightness. Each frame is crafted with smooth “flat-welding” seams, giving the aluminium structure a clean, elegant finish. The frame is combined with a precisely matched aluminium fork featuring integrated cable routing for disc brakes. Some models are also available in the Aluminium Pur finish, where the brushed surface highlights the beauty of the raw frame material.
The drivetrain concept of Schindelhauer bikes combines the low-maintenance, clean Gates Carbon Drive CDX belt with high-quality gearing systems from Shimano Alfine 8-/11-speed hub or Pinion. The Gates belt is quiet, durable and corrosion-free, while the internal hubs and gearboxes offer a wide gear range, excellent reliability and very low maintenance. Many Schindelhauer models also feature Shimano Alfine brake components.

Schindelhauer WILHELM SSP / mitternachtsblauSchindelhauer Bikes was founded in 2009 in Magdeburg by Manuel Holstein, Martin Schellhase, Jörg Schindelhauer and Stephan Zehren – four graduates of Otto von Guericke University in the fields of mechanical engineering, industrial design and business administration. What began as a university project led to the founding of c2g-engineering GmbH at the end of 2008. The first prototype was ready for the market in spring 2009 and was presented at Eurobike 2009. At the end of 2012, the team moved from Magdeburg to Berlin-Kreuzberg, where Schindelhauer is still based today on Schlesische Straße.
From the very beginning, Schindelhauer relied on the Gates Carbon belt drive, which was still largely unknown in the bicycle industry at the time – quiet, clean and virtually maintenance-free. The first model was the "Viktor", a purist singlespeed. Further series were gradually added: the "Ludwig" as a high-end model, the "Friedrich" as an all-rounder, later the "Emil" and "Heinrich" as urban e-bikes, the "Arthur" as a road bike, the "Gustav" and "Greta" as compact city cruisers, the "Wilhelm" as a gravel bike, the "Cato" as a track bike, and most recently the "Neo" as the first 20-inch compact bike. Today the model range includes singlespeed, hub gear, road bike, gravel, track bike and e-bike variants.
Schindelhauer bikes are now sold through over 130 dealers in around 30 countries worldwide – from Europe to Asia to North America. The company employs around 17 people and continues to develop all bikes and accessories in Berlin. With its clear, minimal design and focus on low-maintenance, durable technology, Schindelhauer has established itself as a permanent fixture in the urban premium segment.
With Schindelhauer, you can choose between classic bicycles without a motor and e-bikes with a MAHLE drive. The Gates Carbon belt drive is used throughout, running quietly, cleanly and with minimal maintenance – you won't find a chain on a Schindelhauer. For gearing, there are singlespeed models for purists as well as variants with hub gears (such as the Enviolo by pinion) and derailleur gears (Shimano GRX) for sportier riding. The frames are made of high-quality aluminium, with some models also available in carbon. Colours vary by model and include graphite black, mineral grey, ash grey as well as other shades such as sand and green. There is no classic division into men's and women's bikes – all models are available as diamond or trapezoidal frames so you can find the right bike regardless of gender.
Here is an overview of all current models – arranged as pairs available in both diamond (men's) and trapezoidal (women's) frames, as well as models only available in one frame variant:
