Tufo was founded in 1991 by Miloslav Klabal in the Czech Republic, who already had over 25 years of experience in the rubber industry. The first products were made in a garden shed – Klabal's vision was to develop high-quality bicycle tyres, starting with handcrafted road tubulars. The company name Tufo is derived from the Czech word for "tyre" and has stood for specialisation in bicycle tyres from the very beginning. From the start, Tufo worked closely with world champions and elite racers to feed research and development directly into its products.
Today, Tufo produces in modern factories in Zlín and Otrokovice. Manufacturing is predominantly done by hand – each tyre is unique and undergoes strict quality control. The range includes classic tubulars as well as clinchers and tubeless systems for road, gravel, cyclocross and mountain bikes. Tufo is represented in more than 50 countries and ranks among the world's leading brands in the tubular tyre segment.
At Radfieber, gravel tyres from Tufo are available. The Swampero is a tubeless-ready gravel tyre with a fine centre tread for low rolling resistance on asphalt and grippy shoulder knobs for gravel and light off-road use – the ideal tyre for gravel bikes and light terrain tours.
