Schindelhauer is a Berlin-based manufacturer known since 2009 for elegant, minimalist city bikes. Typical features include the quiet belt drive, integrated lighting solutions, and lightweight aluminum frames with clean lines.
The E-bikes combine discreet motors such as the Mahle X20 or Bosch CX with sleekly integrated batteries. Thanks to the Pinion gearbox and belt drive, they are particularly low-maintenance and optimized for urban everyday use.
Their strengths lie in design, lightness, and technical durability. Schindelhauer electric bikes offer a stylish combination of innovation, comfort, and everyday practicality – perfect for modern city riders.
Schindelhauer often uses centrally positioned Pinion gearboxes (bottom bracket area), meaning the shifting mechanism sits exactly where human power is applied – resulting in less wear. Combined with the Gates Carbon Drive CDX belt instead of a chain, this creates an extremely low-maintenance and clean solution.
Motors such as the Mahle X20 or X35+ rear hub motor are very discreet, and the battery is usually invisible or hidden inside the down tube. This supports the slim, minimalist design in which many e-bike components visually merge.
The lighting systems (e.g., LightSKIN) are integrated into the handlebar and seatpost, often featuring very small, lightweight lights that still comply with StVZO regulations. Also characteristic: internal cable routing, smoothed welds, forged components, and a fine level of craftsmanship. All of this contributes to the premium feel.

Schindelhauer ARTHUR VI X20 / sahneweißSchindelhauer takes a different approach to e-bikes than many traditional e-bike manufacturers. Instead of focusing on large batteries and maximum power output, the emphasis is on a natural riding experience, low weight and elegant integration of technology. Models equipped with the Mahle drive system impress with their sleek appearance and agile handling, while the Bosch-powered models offer maximum support and versatility. What all Schindelhauer e-bikes have in common is their premium craftsmanship, the low-maintenance Gates Carbon Drive belt system and thoughtfully designed features for everyday use.
Antonia and Arthur combine classic Schindelhauer design with state-of-the-art e-bike technology. The lightweight and almost invisibly integrated Mahle drive system delivers natural assistance, while the Pinion gearbox and Gates belt drive ensure exceptionally low maintenance. A particular highlight is the fully integrated LightSKIN lighting system, featuring a front light integrated into the handlebar and a rear light built into the seatpost. This preserves Schindelhauer's signature clean and minimalist appearance. Arthur is aimed at more performance-oriented riders thanks to its sportier geometry and more dynamic handlebar setup, while Antonia offers a slightly more comfortable riding position. Despite their extensive equipment, both models remain exceptionally lightweight and agile.
Emilia and Emil are the comfort-focused all-rounders within the Schindelhauer e-bike range. Like Antonia and Arthur, they feature the lightweight Mahle drive system, a Pinion gearbox and the Gates belt drive. Wide tires provide excellent comfort and confidence on cobblestones, bike paths and unpaved roads. Thanks to the minimalist Mahle system, both bikes remain pleasantly lightweight while delivering a natural riding experience. The riding position is identical on both models and is designed for relaxed and comfortable cycling. With their practical everyday equipment and integrated front rack, Emil and Emilia are equally well suited for commuting, shopping trips and longer leisure rides.
Hannah and Heinrich are the most powerful e-bikes in the Schindelhauer lineup. The proven Bosch drive system provides strong assistance even on steep climbs and when carrying heavy loads. The battery can be easily removed and charged separately. The model range is particularly versatile when it comes to drivetrain options: Heinrich is also available as a purist singlespeed model, while various hub gear systems from Shimano, Rohloff and Enviolo are available depending on the configuration. Enviolo versions can even be equipped with the continuously variable and optional automatic Automatiq shifting technology. This allows Hannah and Heinrich to be perfectly tailored to individual needs, from daily commuting and family rides to demanding touring adventures with luggage.
