The matt, bare aluminium of the aero-shape frame immediately focuses the eye on the essentials – the CNC-milled Pinion P-Line with 18 gears. It comes from former Porsche engineers, is regarded as the top class among bicycle transmissions and delivers a gear range of 636 per cent. As an urban bicycle of the premium class, the custom bicycle combines the highest technology, elegant style and a low-maintenance carbon belt drive into a modern statement for everyday life.
The reduced design of the gearbox ensures that the housing merges seamlessly into the frame design – without any optical compromise. Thanks to the central position, the bicycle is optimally balanced, and thanks to the Pinion principle, all 18 gears can also be shifted reliably while stationary. The Gates carbon belt transfers power to the fine-toothed rear hub; the hydraulic Shimano Alfine S7000 disc brake with 160-millimetre rotors decelerates confidently. In the saddle, the sporty Brooks Swallow Classic provides grip and lasting comfort, and the ergonomic Schindelhauer leather grips do the same for your hands. Mudguards, front and rear racks and optional lighting can be added easily thanks to mounting points; the permissible total weight is 120 kilogrammes.
WILHELM is the custom bicycle system from Schindelhauer, built entirely according to your wishes. XVIII stands in Roman numerals for the eighteen – the highest number of gears in the Wilhelm family. P-LINE names the CNC-milled gearbox line from Pinion, regarded as the top class among bicycle transmissions and developed by former Porsche engineers. The suffix alu pur describes the silvery, raw aluminium look that gives the bicycle its noble yet sporty character.
Within the Wilhelm family, the P-Line variants are the technical top: CNC-milled gearboxes, a sporty Swallow Classic saddle and particularly fine gear steps. The XVIII brings the largest gear range of the series with its 18 gears – 636 per cent for almost any situation, from starting off in the city to a long mountain ride. The C-Line models (IX and XII) share the more compact design instead; the IX C-LINE rides with 364 per cent, the XII C-LINE with twelve gears. Anyone who wants maximum flexibility combined with the finest equipment will find it here – especially in the calm, purist colour finish.
The WILHELM XVIII P-LINE is aimed at riders with high standards: in everyday professional life, on extended rides after work and on long weekends. The 18 gears with a 636 per cent range make the bicycle the most sporty and at the same time most versatile Wilhelm; the carbon belt stays low-maintenance and durable. Mudguards, racks and fixed lighting equip the bicycle for luggage and rain, and the permissible total weight of 120 kilogrammes allows full loads. Because Schindelhauer produces in small quantities, delivery takes a little longer – a test ride is worth it to experience the difference.
