The Aviolo 6.1 is your reliable bike for city and touring. With a lightweight aluminium frame, comfortable geometry, steel suspension fork (63 mm), Shimano CUES 2x9 gears and Conti Contact Urban tyres, it offers riding comfort, style and puncture protection.
This fully equipped bike also offers the right drive for every situation – whether on smooth asphalt or rough gravel. The Conti Contact Urban tyres roll easily, offer excellent puncture protection and thus contribute to an all-round harmonious riding experience.
The 6061 aluminium frame is built in the Forma shape – the variant with the lowest step-through in this range. The top tube traces a wide arc and drops so far down that the bike can be mounted and dismounted while standing and while moving, without any need to hold on. 135 mm O.L.D., a BSA 68 mm bottom bracket, postmount mounts for 160 mm rotors and internal cable routing ensure that the soft shape does not become technically soft: the chassis stays stable, the cables stay protected, and the brake discs are easy to replace later. The matt deep Stealth Black with discreet gloss details underlines the understated elegance of this silhouette. At 17.4 kg, the Forma is the lightest of the three 6.1 frame shapes, and the sizes XS, S, M and L cover a wide range.
The Shimano CUES U4000 delivers a derailleur drivetrain: the two-piece FC-U4010-2 crankset with 46 and 30 teeth and the 9-speed CS-LG300-9 cassette from 11 to 36 teeth produce 18 gears which, with 41 teeth of total capacity, always provide a suitable gear – even when shopping is carried in the luggage rack. The chain guard catches anything that would otherwise snag on clothing, and the CN-LG500 LINKGLIDE chain runs quietly and durably. Front derailleur FD-U4010-L and Shadow rear derailleur RD-U4020-SGS shift precisely, so gear changes are handled calmly even in city traffic.
Suspension and braking are deliberately designed for endurance: The SR Suntour NRX32-SP steel suspension fork with 63 mm of travel absorbs cobblestones, kerb edges and potholes without any adjustment being required – precisely the advantage of a steel spring over an air suspension when what matters is that the bike keeps doing the same thing reliably for years. Tektro HD-T280 hydraulic disc brakes with 180 mm rotors and three-finger levers brake evenly and independently of wind and weather. The 47-622 Continental Contact Urban tyres with Safety Pro, PureGrip compound and reflective strips sit in Oxygen Taurus 26 rims in 26x622 ETRTO – wide enough for comfort, grippy enough for gravel.
The equipment is complete, and every part has its place: The Shimano DH-3D37 hub dynamo generates the current for the AXA Dynamo 45 LED headlight with 45 lux and the AXA Juno stand rear light, so the bike can set off in the evening without any charging time. The Racktime STV RC 11 luggage rack with SNAP IT 2.0 system accepts side panniers and pannier bags, forming the basis for commutes with luggage, shopping trips and short cycle journeys. SKS mudguards, the Pletscher Comp kickstand with KSA 40 mount and the D85 bell round off the picture, while the Scorpo Rise handlebar with 680 mm width, 9° backsweep and 25 mm rise, together with the Selle Royal Vivo Ergo saddle and the Scorpo seat post with 17 mm offset, produce a relaxed, upright seating position. In combination, this creates a bike that demands little attention yet is reliably in use every day – with a total weight limit of 140 kg as well as approval for child seats and trailers up to 40 kg or 80 kg with a trailer brake.
“Aviolo" stands for the STEVENS series of travel and touring bikes, united by a lightweight aluminium frame, a suspension fork, hub dynamo lighting, a luggage rack and mudguards. The digit 6 denotes the equipment level and places the bike between the entry-level 5.2 and the more comfort-focused, better-equipped levels 7, 8 and 9. The 1 after the point stands for the type of drive: all Aviolo 1 models – 6.1, 7.1, 8.1 and 9.1 – work with a chain drivetrain, while the 5.2 uses a hub gear and Gates belt drive. “Forma" names the frame shape with the continuously curved top tube and the lowest step-through, which exists alongside the HT diamond frame and the LT trapeze frame. Stealth Black is the colour designation – a deep matt black with sparingly used gloss.
The 6.1 is the model that brings the geared Shimano CUES shifting into the range: 18 gears and 41 teeth of capacity are found where the 5.2, at 17.9 kg, focuses on absolute low maintenance with Gates belt drive and Shimano Nexus 8. Moving up, the equipment grows visibly – the 7.1 offers 16.8 kg, 20 gears, 48 teeth... no: 44 teeth of capacity, an air suspension fork and 45 mm wide Schwalbe tyres, the 8.1 weighs 16.4 kg with CUES U6000 2x11, and the 9.1 closes the range with 15.8 kg, CUES U8000 2x11 and 48 teeth. Within the 6.1 itself, the frame shape is what decides: HT from XS to XXL, LT from XS to L and Forma from XS to L combine to give fourteen sizes, and technically all three versions are identical. The Forma is therefore the variant with the lowest entry point – and with XS to L the choice for everyone who needs a frame height starting small.
This bike is aimed at people who set off every day and do not want to make adjustments. The low step-through makes stops at every junction uncomplicated, the 47 mm tyres and 63 mm of travel keep comfort high even over long distances, and the steel suspension works continuously without any maintenance. Dynamo, mudguards, luggage rack and stand rear light make the bike ready to ride without anything needing to be charged or mounted – from shopping trips via weekend tours to multi-day cycle journeys with luggage. Compared with the 5.2, it is the choice for everyone who prefers shifting to checking belt tension, and compared with the models featuring air suspension and even more gears it is the calmer, more uncomplicated and more price-conscious alternative that nevertheless remains easy to handle at 17.4 kg.
