The Aviolo 6.1 is your reliable bike for city and touring. With a lightweight aluminium frame, comfortable geometry, steel suspension fork (63 mm), Shimano CUES 2x9 gears and Conti Contact Urban tyres, it offers riding comfort, style and puncture protection.
This fully equipped bike also offers the right drive for every situation – whether on smooth asphalt or rough gravel. The Conti Contact Urban tyres roll easily, offer excellent puncture protection and thus contribute to an all-round harmonious riding experience.
The first thing you notice is the step-through: The 6061 aluminium frame is built as a low-step shape whose top tube runs noticeably lower, so mounting and dismounting works without any fuss. A BSA 68 mm bottom bracket, postmount mounts for 160 mm rotors and internal cable routing keep the silhouette clean and shield cables from dirt and stone chips. The 135 mm O.L.D. and a well-balanced weight of 17.5 kg create a bike that is easy to control, while the matt Stealth Black with discreet gloss details directs attention to the finishing rather than the colour. Frame shape and geometry are tuned for a relaxed, upright riding position that stays comfortable hour after hour.
The Shimano CUES U4000 works as a derailleur drivetrain: two chainrings with 46 and 30 teeth mesh with a 9-speed cassette stepping from 11-13-15-17-20-23-26-30-36 teeth, which adds up to 18 gears. A total capacity of 41 teeth means flat city routes can be ridden just as smoothly as the steep climbs at the edge of town. The chain guard on the two-piece crankset catches whatever would otherwise snag on clothing, and the LINKGLIDE CN-LG500 chain runs quietly and with low wear.
Light is permanently fitted: The Shimano DH-3D37 hub dynamo in the rear wheel supplies the AXA Dynamo 45 LED headlight with 45 lux and the AXA Juno stand rear light, so illumination is always available without any charging time. The Racktime STV RC 11 luggage rack with SNAP IT 2.0 system takes side panniers and pannier bags – the basis for shopping trips, commutes with luggage and multi-day tours. SKS mudguards, the Pletscher Comp kickstand with KSA 40 mount, the STEVENS D85 bell, the Scorpo Rise handlebar with 680 mm width, 9° backsweep and 25 mm rise as well as the ergonomic Selle Royal Vivo Ergo saddle complete the package.
This combination is deliberately chosen and works as one system: The steel suspension fork with 63 mm of travel functions continuously and without any adjustment, and the 47 mm wide Continental Contact Urban tyres with Safety Pro, PureGrip compound and reflective strips damp kerb edges and cobblestones at the same time. Together with the Tektro HD-T280 hydraulic disc brakes and 180 mm rotors, this produces a bike that asks for little attention yet reliably covers many kilometres. Dynamo, mudguards, luggage rack and stand light add up to a system that is ready to ride in any season – with a total weight limit of 140 kg as well as approved child seats and trailers up to 40 kg or 80 kg with a trailer brake.
“Aviolo" designates the STEVENS series of travel and touring bikes, united by a lightweight aluminium frame, a suspension fork, hub dynamo lighting, a luggage rack and mudguards. The digit 6 marks the equipment level: it is the entry point into the range, above which the 7, 8 and 9 levels follow with progressively higher equipment, while the 5.2 forms the base. The 1 after the point identifies the type of drive – all Aviolo 1 models (6.1, 7.1, 8.1, 9.1) use a chain drivetrain, whereas the 5.2 relies on a Shimano Nexus hub gear combined with a Gates carbon belt drive. “LT" stands for Low Tube and names the trapeze frame with a low top tube and low step-through, offered as one of three frame shapes alongside HT and Forma. Stealth Black is this model's colour designation – a matt deep black with discreet gloss details.
Compared with the 5.2 at 17.9 kg, whose Shimano Nexus 8 and Gates CDN carbon belt drive focus on low maintenance and durability, the 6.1 LT at 17.5 kg offers a greater gear range and therefore more flexibility on changing routes. Within the range it sits below the 7.1 (16.8 kg, 20 gears, SR Suntour NRX32IL-D air suspension fork with 60 mm, Schwalbe Marathon Efficiency Performance) and the 8.1 (16.4 kg, magnesium air suspension fork, CUES U6000 2x11), while the 9.1 with 15.9 kg, CUES U8000 2x11 and 48 teeth of capacity closes the range. Set against the HT and Forma versions of the 6.1, the LT uses the same technical setup, complemented by the low step-through and a Scorpo Rise handlebar that is 20 mm narrower at 680 mm instead of 700 mm. Available in sizes XS, S, M and L, it is the choice for everyone who wants exactly this equipment with a lower entry point.
The 6.1 LT is the bike for the journey that happens every day: it carries you through town, along the cycle path and over cobblestones just as calmly as it does on longer loops into the surrounding countryside. The upright seating position, the 47 mm tyres and 63 mm of suspension travel are designed for permanent comfort – which matters when a bike is ridden daily rather than only at the weekend. Dynamo, mudguards, luggage rack and stand rear light make it ready to go without any further preparation, so spontaneous trips, shopping runs and cycle journeys are possible without planning. Compared with the models in the range that feature air suspension and even more finely tuned technology, the 6.1 LT is the calmer and more uncomplicated option – and at the same time the one whose drivetrain asks for the fewest compromises.
