The Schindelhauer Neo Electric combines the agility of a compact 20-inch bicycle with state-of-the-art e-bike technology and Schindelhauer's distinctive design philosophy. The result is an exceptional urban e-bike that feels playful in city traffic while seamlessly integrating advanced technology into a clean and elegant design.

At the heart of the Neo Electric is the Mahle XS system with its compact Mahle X30 rear hub motor. Delivering up to 45 Nm of torque, the system provides smooth and natural assistance while remaining visually unobtrusive. Integrated into the rear wheel hub, the motor preserves the clean silhouette of the bicycle and creates a riding experience that feels remarkably close to that of a traditional bicycle.

A key advantage of the Mahle XS system is its removable battery. Elegantly integrated into the frame triangle, it can be removed within seconds for convenient charging at home or in the office. This solution combines the aesthetics of a fully integrated e-bike with the practical flexibility of a removable battery.

One of the Neo Electric's standout features is its Pinion C-Line 6-speed gearbox. Unlike traditional derailleur systems, the Pinion gearbox is fully enclosed within the bike's centre section, protecting the transmission from dirt and weather while ensuring exceptional durability. The six carefully selected gear ratios are perfectly matched to the Mahle motor, delivering smooth and intuitive performance in urban environments. Its central position also improves weight distribution and contributes to the bike's balanced handling characteristics.

Power is transferred through a Gates Carbon Drive CDX belt system. Compared to a conventional chain, the belt runs almost silently, requires no lubrication and significantly reduces maintenance requirements. Together, the Pinion gearbox and Gates belt create one of the most durable and low-maintenance drivetrain solutions available on the market today.

The compact 20-inch wheel platform delivers quick acceleration, agile handling and exceptional manoeuvrability. Whether navigating busy streets, carrying the bike up stairs or storing it in tight urban spaces, the Neo Electric excels through its compact dimensions and practical design. The one-size concept accommodates a wide range of rider heights while maintaining excellent ergonomics.

Shimano hydraulic disc brakes provide confident stopping power, while the integrated lighting system featuring a LightSKIN front light, LightSKIN seatpost with rear light and Shutter Precision hub dynamo ensures excellent visibility at all times. Factory-installed mudguards and a kickstand further enhance everyday practicality.

Combining the Mahle XS drive system, Pinion gearbox, Gates belt drive and compact 20-inch architecture, the Schindelhauer Neo Electric represents a new generation of premium urban e-bikes. It offers an elegant balance of minimalist design, innovative engineering and effortless everyday mobility.

The road to the name Neo

Unlike many competitors, Schindelhauer bikes never carried abstract codes but names with character: Siegfried was the first, followed by Viktor, Ludwig, Friedrich and Frieda, Lotte, Gustav and Greta, and later Karl, Heinrich, Hannah, Oskar, Arthur, Antonia, Emil and Emilia. A proven assignment applied throughout – top-tube frames were named after men, step-through frames after women – and behind it always lay the claim of delivering German craftsmanship to more than 30 countries.

This changed with the launch of the Neo series in June 2026. From then on, no first name appears, but a Greek word: “neos” translates as “new” and names exactly what the range brings to market, the compact 20-inch format from Berlin. Instead of a figure, an idea now stands behind the title – the will to rethink the city, as Schindelhauer itself phrases it with “Shortcut to the playground”: street as a playground, everyday life as an upgrade.
