Schindelhauer Hannah Enviolo in Garnet Red: Comfort E-Bike with stepless Enviolo hub and carbon belt

The frame of the Hannah Enviolo is built from triple-butted AL6061-T6 aluminium and comes as a step-through trapezoid frame with a swan-neck head tube. A forged motor bracket, the multi-cell down tube, forged dropouts with a slider belt tensioning system and an integrated seat post clamp form the stable foundation. Smoothly welded seams and cable and brake lines routed entirely inside frame and fork deliver a clean, understated look. A hydroformed aluminium fork with tapered steerer, 15 mm through-axle and post mount brake mount completes the front end, guided by an integrated Tange Seiki headset in1 1/8"-1,5" format.

The shifting is handled by an Enviolo TR in the rear wheel: a stepless gear hub that does not work with a fixed number of gears but with a continuous, stepless ratio range. The AUTOMATiQ function, the hub's eShift, shifts under full load and adapts the ratio to speed and cadence on its own – easier uphill, easier into a tailwind. Your preferred cadence can be preset in the app or overridden via the Bosch Kiox on-board computer. A Gates Carbon Drive CDX belt with 50 teeth at the front, 22 teeth at the rear and 118 teeth in length drives this hub. That combination is the answer to the conventional chain: quieter, cleaner, without oil and without counting gears.

Electric assistance comes from a Bosch Performance Line (Cruise) with 250 watts nominal power, 65 Nm of torque and support up to 25 km/h. The Bosch PowerTube 500 with around 500 Wh sits integrated in the down tube and is removable – handy when the bike spends the night in the garage or when a second battery travels along. Control runs via the Bosch Kiox, driven by a Miranda Delta crankset with CNC-machined Schindelhauer Urban pedals, steered by the Satori Stealth stem and Satori Seagull handlebar combination.

The wheelset works on 27.5 inch rims: eyeleted Alexrims EXR25 with Sapim Race spokes, laced three- and two-cross, with a high-flange disc front hub up front. WTB Horizon tyres at 47 mm width with reflective stripes sit on those rims – comfortable on cobbles and cycle paths, agile in city traffic. Hydraulic Shimano MT200 respectively MT401 disc brakes with 160 mm rotors deliver reliable deceleration in wet conditions and under load. The Fabric Scoop Shallow Sport comfort saddle meets the raised handlebar position, balancing wide tyres and an agile riding character. In size M the fully equipped bike weighs 24.7 kilograms.

Lighting runs straight from the battery: a Supernova Mini 2 headlight at the front and a Supernova E3 tail light, both integrated into the Wingee W52 mudguards, which as a Schindelhauer custom version combine mudguard shape with frame graphics. Pannier mounts are integrated into the rear mudguard for transport bags, and a front rack can be added, covering tour gear, shopping and multi-day trips alike. Further extras include a lock holder beneath the top tube with the option of mounting a frame lock, preparation for a child seat at the seat tube and a child trailer via a coupling adapter on the rear axle, plus a Hebie 663 FIX18 side stand. In short: light, luggage and family needs are all thought out – electrically, mechanically and visually cast from one piece.

How "Hannah Enviolo" got its name – and what each part stands for

"Hannah" refers to the female model in this series and points to the frame shape: a step-through trapezoid frame, paired with the Heinrich as its diamond-frame male counterpart. The name stands for the comfort-oriented version of the electric all-rounder, designed for everyday use and continuous operation. "Enviolo" names the type of shifting, namely the stepless Enviolo TR as the rear-wheel internal gear hub – not a gear catalogue but a continuous ratio range whose work the hub takes over itself. The AUTOMATiQ suffix stands for the electronic eShift control of this hub, listed in the equipment as "ENVIOLO TR – AUTOMATiQ". Added to this are the colour designation Garnet Red and the frame sizes S at 46 cm and M at 49 cm.

Compared with the Hannah enviolo 1.0 featuring the Bosch Smart System, the differences are concrete: there a Bosch Performance CX with 85 Nm, 50 mm wide Schwalbe G-One Speed tyres, 60 mm Alumee mudguards, a RackTime SnapIt rear rack, a Brooks B17 S Lady saddle and a Kiox with LED remote control do the work. This version instead relies on the Bosch Performance Line (Cruise), 47 mm WTB Horizon tyres, Wingee W52 with integrated pannier mounts, the Fabric saddle and a Kiox without remote. Beyond frame shape it also differs from the manufacturer's other series: Arthur, Antonia, Emil and Emilia belong to the featherweight Mahle family, Friedrich and Frieda use Alfine 8- or 11-speed hubs, Wilhelm is the gravel bike, Gustav and Greta ride compact Nexus hubs, Siegfried and Hektor are singlespeeds, Cato the road bike and Neo the 20-inch folding bike.

What the Hannah Enviolo is built for day to day

The purpose of this Hannah Enviolo lies on the route between city and countryside: commuting, shopping trips, excursions into the surrounding area and multi-day tours with luggage. The step-through frame and the upright seating position over the Satori Seagull handlebar are no side detail but the basis of the equipment, because they make mounting and dismounting easier and take strain off over long distances. 47 mm tyres and full equipment with Wingee mudguards, battery-powered lighting, pannier mounts and side stand open up exactly the scope that city and country riders look for: just ride off, even in the rain.
