Full of energy and flair – Hannah is our women's e-bike for city and country cyclists who don't want to worry about carrying luggage or empty batteries.
Schindelhauer is a small Berlin-based manufacturer and very popular. Bikes that are available online usually only come in one size. That's why we would advise you to act fast.
The frame is made of triple-butted AL6061-T6 aluminium and is built as a step-through trapezoid frame with swan neck. A forged motor bracket, the multi-cell down tube, a forged dropout with slider belt tensioning system and belt port along with an integrated seat post clamp provide stability. Smoothly welded seams and internal cable routing, which hides all lines inside frame and fork, deliver a reduced look. A hydroformed aluminium fork with tapered steerer, internal cable routing, post mount brake mount and 15 mm through-axle completes the front end, guided by an integrated Tange Seiki headset in tapered 1 1/8–1,5 format.
Shifting happens via an Enviolo TR, a stepless gear hub in the rear wheel. Rather than fixed gears it works with a continuous ratio range, and the AUTOMATiQ function – the hub’s eShift – keeps cadence constant even under full load. You set your preferred frequency in the app or override it via the Bosch Kiox on-board computer. Power moves through a Gates Carbon Drive CDX belt with 50 teeth at the front, 22 teeth at the rear and 118 teeth in length. It is precisely the interplay of hub and belt that makes this bike so uncomplicated: the hub handles gear selection, the belt transmits power quietly and stays clean while the bike stands still.
Electric assistance comes from a Bosch Performance Line (Cruise) with 250 watts of power, 65 Nm of torque and support up to 25 km/h. The Bosch PowerTube 500 delivers around 500 Wh and sits as an in-tube battery inside the down tube – removable, which makes overnight storage and a spare battery on the road easier. Control runs through the Bosch Kiox, driven by the Miranda Delta crankset with CNC-machined Schindelhauer Urban pedals in aluminium, steered by the Satori Stealth stem and Satori Seagull handlebar.
The bike rolls on 27.5 inch rims: eyeleted Alexrims EXR25 with Sapim Race spokes, laced three- and two-cross, a high-flange disc front hub at the front and the Enviolo TR at the rear. WTB Horizon tyres in 47-584 with reflective stripes make cobbles comfortable while still offering enough agility for city traffic. Shimano MT401 hydraulic disc brakes with 160 mm rotors decelerate reliably in wet conditions and under load. The Fabric Scoop Shallow Sport comfort saddle pairs with the raised handlebar position, so comfort and an agile riding character sit in harmony. In size M the fully equipped Hannah Enviolo weighs 24.7 kilograms.
Lighting draws straight from the battery: a Supernova Mini 2 headlight at the front and a Supernova E3 tail light, both integrated into Wingee W52 mudguards in a Schindelhauer custom version that also keep out rain and grime. Pannier mounts are integrated into the rear mudguard for rear pannier bags, and an optional front rack expands capacity for longer tours. A Hebie 663 FIX18 side stand, a lock holder beneath the top tube with the option of a frame lock plus preparation for a child seat at the seat tube and a child trailer via a coupling adapter on the rear axle round the picture off: an electric multi-talent for city and countryside that considers luggage, light and family needs from the very start.
“Hannah” is the female model name in this series and refers to the frame shape: step-through trapezoid, the counterpart to the Heinrich with diamond frame. It stands for the comfort-oriented version of the electric multi-talent, designed for everyday use and continuous operation. “Enviolo” names the transmission, namely the stepless Enviolo TR as internal gear hub in the rear wheel – a continuous ratio range instead of a gear catalogue. The AUTOMATiQ suffix stands for the electronic eShift control of this hub, listed in the equipment line as “ENVIOLO TR – AUTOMATiQ”. The name is rounded off by the colour designation pearl blue and the frame sizes S at 46 cm and M at 49 cm.
Within its own line the Hannah Enviolo takes the comfort-focused position: it pairs the step-through frame with the Enviolo hub, while Emil and Emilia with Pinion C-Line6 or 9-speed gear and Mahle powertrain on X20 or X35 basis carry a stepped transmission. The difference to the Hannah enviolo 1.0 with Bosch Smart System becomes clear: there a Bosch Performance CX with 85 Nm, 50 mm wide Schwalbe G-One Speed tyres, 60 mm Alumee mudguards, a RackTime SnapIt rear rack, a Brooks B17 S Lady saddle and a Kiox with LED remote control do the work. Here instead a Bosch Performance Line (Cruise), 47 mm WTB Horizon tyres, Wingee W52 with integrated pannier mounts, the Fabric saddle and a Kiox without remote provide a calmer, material-focused equipment set. Beyond the series it also sets itself apart: Arthur, Antonia, Emil and Emilia belong to the featherweight Mahle family, Friedrich and Frieda to Alfine 8- or 11-speed hubs, Wilhelm is the gravel bike, Gustav and Greta ride compact Nexus hubs, Siegfried and Hektor are singlespeeds, Cato the road bike and Neo the 20-inch folding bike.
This bike is designed for the route between city and countryside: commuting, shopping trips, excursions into the surrounding area and multi-day tours with luggage. The step-through frame and the upright seating position over the Satori Seagull handlebar are supporting elements of the design, because they simplify mounting and dismounting and take strain off over longer distances. 47 millimetre tyres, Wingee mudguards, battery-powered lighting, pannier mounts and a side stand open up exactly the scope that city and country riders are looking for: just ride off, even in the rain. Against the Pinion systems of the X20 and X35 series the Enviolo hub remains the stepless, overlapping alternative without chain mess and shifting jerk. Against the Heinrich, its male counterpart, it offers the same technology in a frame shape with a low step-through – made for everyone who wants to get on and off safely and relaxed.
