Antonia – The avant-garde e-bike: Fully integrated electric drive, Pinion C-Line gearbox from the automotive industry, and carbon fiber timing belt: With Antonia, you can experience the most advanced electrification of the classic bicycle.
See and be seen: with Antonia, you can rely on this even in the dark. The smallest StVZO-compliant lighting system from LightSKIN impresses with its uncompromising integration into the handlebars and seat post. You are well protected from wetness and dirt thanks to the standard Curana mudguards. A luggage rack is available as an option.

Enable Youtube videosSage green gives this frame a calm, unassuming elegance and lets the clear lines become visible: heat-treated AL6061-T6 aluminium, triple-butted in the Aero-Shape tube set – strong at the welds, slim in the tube centre, stiff in between. The forged bottom bracket shell and forged dropouts with slider tensioning system and Schindelhauer belt port absorb high loads, the integrated motor plug disappears neatly into the tube, the integrated seat clamp keeps the silhouette calm, and smoothed welds plus internal cable routing deliver a flawless surface. A hydroformed aluminium fork with tapered steerer, internal cable routing, post mount mount and 15 mm through-axle completes the package.
Shifting is handled by a Pinion C-Line gear unit in the bottom bracket with nine mechanical gears in XR specification. Nine steps spread the ratios finely across the entire range, so every gradient has a suitable gear ready and the pedal keeps running evenly. Because the unit shifts while standing still, the gear changes within seconds at the traffic light. The closed design inside the bottom bracket stays reliable in rain and dirt, its low position additionally lowers the centre of gravity, and the XR variant is matched to higher loads and sportier riding.
Power transmission is taken care of by a Gates Carbon Drive CDX belt with 115 teeth as well as 39 teeth at the front and 28 teeth at the rear. Belt port and slider tensioning system keep the tension permanently adjustable. This results in around three to four times as many kilometres as with a chain at the same efficiency and maintenance effort limited to a few hand movements per year – while clothing stays clean.
The drive comes from the MAHLE X20 system: a hub drive motor in the rear wheel delivers 250 watts and 55 Nm of torque with support up to 25 km/h, mounted via a 12 mm through-axle. The inTube battery with around 250 Wh disappears completely into the down tube, and the head unit sits in the top tube – control with Bluetooth and ANT+ therefore happens directly on the frame. Three support levels can be chosen to suit the terrain, and the lightweight hub motor weighs so little that the bike also rides sovereignly without assistance. Because the power engages at the rear wheel only, the drivetrain stays free of load, which means very natural riding feel and protects the belt.
Lighting is part of the concept too: the LightSkin City handlebar houses the headlight, the LightSkin seatpost the taillight. Both lights are StVZO-compliant and draw their power from the battery, so they are ready to go at any time. While pedalling, the e-bike acts as a complete lighting system, equally reliable in the city and at dusk.
Equipment for weather, comfort and control: Curana Dlite mudguards keep off rain and dirt, the Satori Stealth stem and the Schindelhauer ergo leather grips provide calm, pleasant rides, and the Brooks B17 S Lady saddle on a chromed rail sits softly and upright. Shimano Alfine S7000 hydraulic brakes with 160 mm discs brake powerfully and with precise modulation. Schindelhauer StraightPull hubs with Kinlin TL23R rims and Sapim Race spokes give the wheel high stiffness, while Continental GP Urban Classic tyres in 35-622 ensure calm running on asphalt and secure grip on cobbles. Schindelhauer Urban Pedals made from CNC-machined aluminium round off the drivetrain. In size M the bike weighs 15.9 kg, and the approved total weight is 130 kg.
Everything is prepared for bikepacking and longer tours: a rear rack mount allows luggage, and bottle, lock and kickstand find their place. In combination with the wide city tyres, the belt drive and the integrated lighting, the result is a package that keeps running reliably and needs little care even after a full working day.
This brand does without technical type codes for its urban models and instead hands out first names – every bike thus gets its own personality. “Antonia” is the name of this bike and forms a deliberately chosen name pair with “Arthur” in female and male form. “IX” is a Roman numeral and at the same time the gear count: IX stands for nine gears of the Pinion C-Line, while the VI variant appears with six steps. “X20” names the fitted motor system, the MAHLE X20 hub drive with 55 Nm of torque; the sibling models with X35 deliver 40 Nm. Sage green is the paint of this bike, the second colour of the series is called cream white.
Within the series two degrees of freedom can be combined: the number of gears and the motor generation. The VI X20 shares the 55 Nm with this model but works with six larger steps; the IX variants offer nine finely graduated gears and can be ordered with either the X20 motor or the X35 motor with 40 Nm. Compared with the X35 version, the X20 equipment adds three adjustable support levels via the head unit in the top tube, a 12 mm through-axle, Shimano Alfine S7000 hydraulic brakes and the StraightPull wheelset with Kinlin TL23R rims; the Curana Dlite mudguards complement the CLite equipment of the X35 models. The weight remains at 15.9 kg in size M, on the level of the other urban e-bikes of this family.
Colourwise you can choose between cream white and sage green, and frame sizes XS at 48 cm, S at 52 cm and M at 56 cm frame length suit body heights of about 155 to 165 cm, 165 to 175 cm and 175 to 185 cm. Beyond the drive variants, the programme includes other lines: the gravel diamond frame relies on sportier components for faster tours, the Bosch-driven e-bikes deliver even more torque for steep mountain routes, the Nexus models target the plain city machine and the singlespeeds the reduced solution for everyone who deliberately prefers a simple drivetrain.
The Antonia is built as an avant-gardist e-bike for everyone who gets on the bike in everyday life and wants to experience automotive technology while doing so. 55 Nm of torque help on steep sections and when starting off with luggage, the nine Pinion steps ensure calm rolling on the flat, and the trapez frame with sloping top tube lowers the standover height, makes mounting and dismounting in everyday clothing easier and leads to a more upright, more relaxed riding position – a noticeable advantage in dense city traffic with frequent stops.
The male counterpart exists: Arthur carries the same technology in diamond form, with a straight top tube and classic, sporty elegance, and is available in XS at 50 cm, S at 53 cm, M at 57 cm and L at 59 cm. What counts is therefore the preferred riding position, not gender – similarly as with Emilia alongside Emil, Greta alongside Gustav or Lotte alongside Ludwig. Compared with the X35, the X20 variant is the choice for everyone who wants maximum torque reserves and the finest gear count; compared with the Bosch-driven bikes the one who prefers an especially light, quiet system with hub motor; and compared with the singlespeed and Nexus models the one who deliberately wants to experience the drivetrain in multiple steps.
