Enable Youtube videosThe Marin Alpine Trail E2 is a hard-hitting full-power e-enduro built for steep climbs, technical trails and fast descents. Based around the new Alpine Trail E platform, Marin combines a powerful Bosch CX drive system with 160 mm of rear travel, 170 mm up front and a high-quality component package designed to handle serious enduro riding. Compared with the Alpine Trail E1, the E2 takes a significant step up in suspension, drivetrain, brakes and wheels.
At the heart of the bike is the latest Bosch Performance Line CX Gen 5 motor. Delivering up to 120 Nm of torque, 750 watts and 600% support, the full-power drive unit provides huge reserves for steep and technical climbs. At the same time, the Bosch CX delivers its power in a natural and controllable way, helping maintain traction on loose and challenging terrain.
Marin pairs the powerful motor with a large 800Wh Bosch PowerTube battery. Neatly integrated into the downtube, the battery remains removable for charging, transportation or battery swaps. Riders looking to reduce weight can alternatively install a compatible Bosch 600Wh battery, while the frame is also prepared for the optional Bosch PowerMore additional battery.
A Bosch Kiox 400C color display is cleanly integrated into the top tube and provides easy access to important ride and system information. Together with the Bosch Bluetooth Remote and Bosch eBike Flow app, it creates a modern and uncluttered control system.
The foundation is an all-new Series 4 aluminum frame developed around the Bosch CX Gen 5 drive unit. Marin has made the new generation lighter and sleeker without sacrificing the strength required for aggressive riding. The MultiTrac 2 LT suspension platform delivers 160 mm of rear travel, balancing sensitivity, support and progression for demanding trail and enduro riding.
The Alpine Trail E2 takes a major step up in suspension performance. A RockShox ZEB Select+ fork with 170 mm of travel handles the front, while a custom-tuned RockShox Vivid Air Select+ controls the rear suspension. This highly capable and adjustable RockShox combination provides plenty of control and reserves when the trail becomes fast, steep and rough.
One of the defining features of the Alpine Trail E platform is its adjustable geometry. Swapping the upper headset cup allows the head angle to be altered by ±0.75°, while rear flip chips adjust bottom bracket height by 6 mm and chainstay length by 8 mm. This allows riders to tune the bike for maximum high-speed stability or a more agile feel on tight and technical terrain.
The Alpine Trail E2 comes standard with a mixed-wheel setup featuring a 29-inch front and 27.5-inch rear wheel. The larger front wheel delivers stability and excellent rollover performance on rough terrain, while the smaller rear wheel keeps handling agile and provides additional freedom of movement on steep descents.
Shifting is handled by a durable SRAM Eagle T-Type Transmission. A SRAM Eagle 70 direct-mount rear derailleur is paired with an Eagle 90 shifter and a wide-range 10–52T cassette. The Transmission system is designed for durability and reliable shifting under load, making it an excellent match for a powerful e-enduro.
Powerful SRAM Maven Bronze four-piston brakes with large 200 mm HSC rotors front and rear provide the stopping power. The high braking performance of the Maven platform offers plenty of reserves for long, steep and fast descents.
The wheel and tire package is equally ready for hard riding. A tough WTB Sportterra Tough i30 wheelset is paired with Schwalbe's modern Radial tires. Up front, a Schwalbe Magic Mary Gravity Pro Radial 29 x 2.5" with Ultra Soft compound delivers maximum grip, while a 27.5 x 2.5" Magic Mary Gravity Pro Radial with Soft compound at the rear balances traction and durability.
An X-Fusion Manic HC dropper post with travel adjustable in 10 mm increments also comes as standard. Depending on frame size, it provides 150, 170 or 200 mm of travel. A wide 800 mm Marin Trail handlebar and short 35 mm CNC stem complete the control-focused cockpit.
The Marin Alpine Trail E2 is therefore an ideal choice for riders who want the huge motor output and large battery of the new Alpine Trail E platform combined with a significantly higher-spec component package. RockShox ZEB and Vivid suspension, SRAM Eagle Transmission, powerful Maven four-piston brakes and tough WTB wheels make the E2 a highly capable e-enduro straight out of the box.
