Just 8.2 kilograms – that is what the Camino RS PRO DI2 tips the scales at, thanks to a premium carbon frame engineered along race-aero principles with fully internal cable routing. Power comes from Shimano's wireless GRX 825 Di2 groupset, arranged in a 2x12 layout for a total of 24 gears. An electronic front derailleur shifts the chain between 48 and 31 teeth, while the broadly spaced cassette runs from 11 to 36 teeth. The Fulcrum Soniq carbon wheels roll on 40 mm wide Schwalbe G-One R Pro tyres in 40-622, and the frame clears rubber up to 45 millimetres wide. There is no lighting fitted, and – like every RS model – the frame deliberately forgoes rack and mudguard mounts; here, weight beats payload. Highlights include the hydraulic GRX disc brakes with 160 mm rotors, a Deda Elementi cockpit, a Fizik Vento Argo saddle, the Scorpo carbon seatpost and a factory-fitted STEVENS D85 bell; the manufacturer rates the overall system weight at 115 kilograms.

Name Decoded: Camino, RS, PRO, Di2 and Cool Grey

Five building blocks make up this model name, each with its own story. "Camino" is Spanish for "way" or "path" – a fitting name for a bike equally at ease on tarmac and gravel. "RS" points to racing and sets the sporty versions apart from the more relaxed models in the line-up. "PRO" indicates the highest equipment tier in the family. "Di2" stands for the electronic shifting technology of the drivetrain's maker, which changes gear wirelessly at the touch of a button. And "Cool Grey" describes the understated, nordic-clean grey paintwork of this particular build.

Sibling Rivalry: How the RS PRO DI2 Fits into the Camino Range

The Camino RS PRO DI2 shares its aero-optimised race frame with the RS PRO AXS but takes a different route when it comes to shifting: instead of SRAM's single-chainring setup, a Shimano GRX 825 Di2 with two chainrings and 24 gears does the work, paired with Fulcrum Soniq carbon wheels rather than the sibling's Zipp rims. Compared with the cheaper Camino RS, which rides the same race geometry with SRAM Apex XPLR AXS 1x12 on DT Swiss wheels, the PRO DI2 feels noticeably more upmarket thanks to its higher-spec groupset and roughly 400 grams of saved weight. And in contrast to the all-rounder Caminos without the RS suffix – which are cut more comfortably and carry mounts for racks and mudguards – the RS PRO DI2 remains a purist performance machine, deliberately leaving those everyday extras behind.

Built for Racing and Long Days: The RS PRO DI2's Purpose

This gravel bike is made for everything that is simultaneously fast and far: gravel races, brisk training loops and lengthy outings on mixed surfaces. The frame's marathon ergonomics, borrowing endurance-road DNA from the same manufacturer, keep long hours in the saddle manageable, while the vibration-damping steering geometry smooths out rough gravel stretches. The 2x12 drivetrain provides the wide gear range needed on long routes with climbs and fast descents – an edge over the uncompromising, 1x13-focused RS PRO AXS. Riders primarily interested in loaded tours, mudguards and an upright position, however, are better served by the non-racing Camino models; within this line, the RS PRO DI2 remains the most versatile bike carrying a race pedigree.
