The STEVENS Camino RS is a newly developed race gravel bike with an aero design and gravel features. Inspired by Arcalis and Xenith, it offers comfort, SRAM Apex AXS XPLR 1x12-speed shifting, and up to 45 mm tire clearance—ideal for fast gravel rides with the perfect mix of rolling resistance, weight, and riding comfort.

Lightweight 8.6 kg gravel carbon bike in a class of its own with winning potential thanks to DT Swiss G 1800 Spline wheelset, 40 mm wide Schwalbe G-One R Pro tires in universal 40 mm width, and gravel cockpit with riser handlebars and Selle Royal saddle.

At roughly 8.6 kilograms, the Camino RS proves that entry-level race gravel doesn't have to be heavy. Its Carbon SL Fibre frameset blends aerodynamic shaping with rugged gravel composure – the aero cues borrow from the quick Arcalis road bike, while the sloped top tube takes inspiration from the more comfort-oriented endurance model of the same brand. Shifting is completely wireless: the SRAM Apex XPLR AXS groupset runs a 1x12 layout with 12 gears, a 40-tooth chainring and a wide-ranging 11-44 cassette that copes easily with steep climbs. The DT Swiss G 1800 Spline wheels are tubeless-ready and roll on 40-622 Schwalbe G-One R Pro tyres measuring 40 millimetres, while the frame offers up to 45 millimetres of tyre clearance. There is no lighting fitted, and – in typical RS fashion – no rack or mudguard mounts; the focus sits firmly on weight and agility. Special features include the aero gravel bar from the Scorpo Race series with a slight rise and 8-degree flare, a Selle Royal saddle, hydraulic SRAM Apex disc brakes with 160 mm rotors and the standard-fitted STEVENS D85 bell; the manufacturer states a 115-kilogram overall weight limit.

Name Building Blocks: Camino, RS and Forest Light

This bike's name is made up of three parts that are easy to decode. "Camino" is the Spanish term for "way" or "path" and suits a bike equally at home on tarmac and off it. "RS" designates the racing-oriented line within this series and signals sporty geometry and race-grade equipment. "Forest Light" is the paintwork name – a warm woodland green with light accents that sets this gravel machine apart from its siblings at a glance.

From Base Model to Race Tool: Where the Camino RS Fits In

The Camino RS provides the most affordable entry into the fast RS segment of the Camino family, wrapping the identical race geometry and aero carbon frame as its pricier siblings. While the Camino RS PRO DI2 runs a Shimano GRX 825 Di2 2x12 and the RS PRO AXS a SRAM Force XPLR E1 AXS 1x13, the base model shifts through SRAM Apex XPLR AXS 1x12 and rolls on proven DT Swiss wheels instead of carbon – which noticeably lowers the ticket price without diluting the platform. At around 8.6 kilograms, it sits just above the RS PRO DI2 and remains a featherweight. In contrast to the everyday-friendly Caminos without the RS tag, which come with rack and mudguard mounts and a more upright seating style, the RS deliberately drops those extras and stays firmly dedicated to speed and competition.

Purpose-Driven: Fast Gravel Beyond the Comfort Path

The Camino RS is made for riders who want uncomplicated speed: brisk outings, casual gravel races and ambitious training loops on mixed terrain. The 1x12 setup with its wide-ranging cassette removes shifting hassle and front-derailleur fuss – a real plus, especially for those stepping into the race segment for the first time. Compared with the flanking RS Pro models, the components are more modest, but the fundamental character remains the same: a fast, agile race gravel bike. Riders who value bikepacking, loaded tours or a more upright position, on the other hand, are better served by the all-round Caminos of the series – the Camino RS is, and stays, a tool designed for sport.
