Enable Youtube videosStevens Caleta 9.2 LT transfers the highest-grade equipment of the Caleta series onto a trapezoid frame with a low step-through, combining refined technology with comfortable mounting and dismounting. At its heart is the Pinion P1.18 gearbox with 18 gears and a huge gear range of 636%. It sits in the bottom bracket shell and therefore works in a particularly low-maintenance way, unaffected by dirt and moisture. Power is transmitted via the robust Gates CDX Center Track belt, which together with the 32-tooth chainring and the 28-tooth sprocket forms a quiet, clean and durable drive system. Braking is handled by the hydraulic Shimano CUES U8000 BR-U8000 disc brakes with 180 mm SM-RT64 rotors, which bite powerfully and can be modulated finely. The Supernova M99 DY Pro headlight with high beam and the TL 3 Mini taillight with standlight function provide excellent visibility and safety. The extensive equipment also includes stiff DT Swiss HG 1800 Spline wheels, a Racktime carrier with SNAP-IT-2.0, Kid'n'Carry and QL3.1 system, Curana Apollo mudguards, a kickstand and a bell. With 45 mm wide, tubeless-ready Schwalbe G-One Overland tyres and a permitted total weight of 140 kg, Caleta 9.2 LT is a comfortable companion for demanding everyday and travel routes.
The name Caleta comes from Spanish, means “small bay” and refers to Caleta de Famara on Lanzarote, where Stevens puts its models through extensive testing. The 9 stands for the top class of the Caleta family, the 2 marks the second, particularly high-grade version with a gearbox. LT stands for “Low Tube” and denotes the trapezoid frame with a low, sloping top tube for a comfortable entry. Coffee Noir, finally, stands for the noble dark brown finish.
Caleta 9.2 LT is the premium model with a low step-through and the sister model of the 9.2 HT. Together they form the top of the line and, with the Pinion P1.18 gearbox giving 18 gears and a 636% gear range, clearly set themselves apart from the other models. It positions itself above the 9.1 with derailleur drivetrain and the belt-driven 8.2 with Pinion C1.12 (12 gears) as the most comfortable premium variant. From the belt-and-hub models 5.2 (Nexus 8) and 7.2 (Alfine 11) it differs through the gearbox with a far greater range, and from the derailleur family 6.1, 7.1, 8.1 and 9.1 through the low-maintenance belt drive. Anyone who prefers a sportier posture with a high top tube will find the same equipment in the HT version.
Caleta 9.2 LT is aimed at riders looking for a first-class equipped trekking bike with a wide gear range and a comfortable low step-through at the same time. With a 636% range and 18 gears, the Pinion gearbox covers long climbs with luggage as well as brisk passages in the city, and needs hardly any maintenance – ideal for high-mileage riders and commuters. The upright, comfortable seating position, the low step-through and the wide Schwalbe tyres make longer tours pleasant, while the high-grade brake and lighting system ensures safety even in darkness and wet conditions. Thanks to complete FEQ equipment with carrier, mudguards, kickstand and bell, the bike is ready for everyday use straight away, and the permitted total weight of 140 kg allows for a child seat or extensive luggage. Within the Stevens range it sets itself apart from the sporty Camino series without fixed lighting and carrier, as well as from the Tour series (Aviolo, 6X Lite Tour) and the Urban series (Amant, Kalea, Strada). Anyone who prefers a derailleur drivetrain turns to the 9.1 or 8.1; anyone looking for fewer gears and lower weight turns to the belt-driven 8.2.
