The Caleta 8.2 is a sporty touring bike with a powerful belt drive, Pinion C1.12 gear shift and lightweight graphite aluminium frame. Ideal for commuters and touring with luggage. The stable steering fork, hub dynamo LED lighting and luggage rack ensure riding pleasure, style and everyday practicality.
In addition, the Swiss HG 1800 Spline wheels with Schwalbe G-One Overland Performance tyres offer excellent rolling characteristics and low weight. Mobile 365 days a year – freedom in everyday traffic.
Stevens Caleta 8.2 LT pairs a lightweight Aluminium 6061 frame with a fully enclosed Pinion C1.12 gearbox that delivers 12 gears and a 600 percent gear range. A Gates CDX carbon belt transfers the power: because the gearbox sits centrally at the bottom bracket and the belt runs as a closed loop, the drivetrain stays exceptionally low-maintenance, clean and weather-resistant – the ideal foundation for a bike that is out all year round. The hydraulic Shimano CUES U8000 disc brakes with 180 mm rotors slow the bike reliably, and their firm modulation suits the even output of the gearbox. For visibility and safety, hub-dynamo LED lighting with the Supernova E3 Pure 3 headlight (205 lumens, daytime running light) and the Supernova TL 3 Mini taillight with standlight function is on board. The FEQ full equipment also includes a Racktime carrier with SNAP-IT-2.0 and QL3.1 system for bags and baskets, mudguards, a kickstand and a bell. Together with the 45 mm wide, tubeless-ready Schwalbe G-One Overland tyres and a permitted total weight of 140 kg, this makes for a touring bike that copes just as easily with luggage, a child seat and a trailer.
The name Caleta comes from Spanish: caleta means “small bay” and refers to the coastal village of Caleta de Famara on Lanzarote, where Stevens puts its models through extensive testing. The number combination 8.2 places the bike in the eighth series class, with the two marking the second version of that tier. The letters LT stand for “Low Tube” and denote the step-through trapezoid frame. Finally, Graphite describes the understated grey finish of the frame.
Within the Caleta line, 8.2 LT holds a special place, because it combines the low maintenance of a belt drive with the wide range of a gearbox. The 6.1, 7.1, 8.1 and 9.1 models rely on open Shimano CUES derailleur drivetrains, while the 5.2 and 7.2 versions use compact belt-driven hub gears. Caleta 8.2 LT instead turns to the enclosed Pinion C1.12 with 12 gears and a 600 percent range, gaining gear bandwidth over the hub-gear models. Compared with the flagship 9.2, which offers as many as 18 gears with the Pinion P1.18, 8.2 LT remains the more compact twelve-speed gearbox option. Riders who prefer an easy step-through choose the LT form; the matching HT version with a diamond frame appeals to anyone who likes a classic frame layout.
Caleta 8.2 LT is designed as a sporty touring and everyday bike for people who commute daily and still plan multi-day trips with luggage. The FEQ equipment with lighting, carrier, mudguards and kickstand makes the bike ready for everyday use right away, while the gearbox and belt allow long service intervals along with a clean, quiet ride. Within the Stevens range this sets it apart from the Tour series (such as the Aviolo and 6X Lite Tour models), which leans more towards classic derailleur gearing and touring comfort, and from the Urban series (Amant, Kalea, Strada), whose focus lies on the city. Compared with the derailleur Caleta models 6.1, 7.1, 8.1 and 9.1, 8.2 LT is aimed at riders who value a low-maintenance, weatherproof drivetrain with a wide range.
