The high-quality city tourer bike – perfect for leisure and commuting. The Shimano CUES U6000 2x11 gear system ensures smooth gear changes, Shimano BR-MT410 disc brakes provide controlled deceleration and the full range of features, including a hub dynamo, LED lights and luggage rack, ensure everyday practicality.
But that's not all: 45 mm wide Schwalbe G-One Overland tyres provide good grip and top rolling performance for your bike, and the lightweight aluminium frame offers a sporty yet comfortable riding position.
Stevens Caleta 8.1 LT combines the sporty touring character of the Caleta series with a comfortable trapezoid frame and low step-through. The lightweight Aluminium 6061 frame works together with a versatile Shimano CUES U6000 drivetrain: the 2x11 gearing with the FC-U6010-2 crankset (46-32 teeth), the LINKGLIDE RD-U6020-11-SGS rear derailleur and the CS-LG400-11 cassette (11-45 teeth) delivers 22 gears and thus a wide range for flat city riding as well as for climbs on tour; the robust LINKGLIDE technology ensures smooth, durable shifting with little maintenance. The hydraulic Shimano BR-MT410 disc brakes in Deore quality with 180 mm rotors slow the bike confidently even in the wet. The hub-dynamo LED lighting with the Trelock Light Hammer 80 headlight (80 lux) and the B+M Xeltec Mini taillight with standlight function provides good visibility and safety. The extensive everyday package includes the Racktime carrier with SNAP-IT-2.0, Kid'n'Carry and QL3.1 system, Curana Apollo mudguards, a kickstand and a bell. The 45 mm wide, tubeless-ready Schwalbe G-One Overland tyres and a permitted total weight of 140 kg make Caleta 8.1 LT a reliable partner for leisure and commuting.
Caleta is the Spanish word for a small bay and refers to the coastal village of Caleta de Famara on Lanzarote, where Stevens tests its models in depth. The 8.1 stands for series class 8 and the digit 1, which designates the first version of that tier with a classic chain drivetrain. LT stands for “Low Tube” and means the trapezoid frame with a sloping top tube for a comfortable low step-through. Grey Green, finally, names the subtle grey-green colour.
The 8.1 takes a sporty mid position within the Caleta family and offers plenty of range with its eleven-speed cassette and the CUES U6000 group. The 7.1 lines up a touch simpler with the ten-speed CUES group, while the 9.1 is even more refined with the higher-grade CUES U8000 group. Compared with its belt-driven siblings 5.2 and 7.2 and the Pinion models 8.2 and 9.2, the 8.1 relies on the classic derailleur drivetrain, which is straightforward to maintain and can be tuned individually. Its Deore-class brakes sit on the same level as those of the 7.2 and 9.1. The trapezoid frame of the LT version with its low step-through is ideal for comfortable mounting and dismounting; anyone who prefers a sportier posture with a high top tube will find the same equipment in the HT version.
Caleta 8.1 LT is a high-quality touring and city trekking bike for leisure, commuting and travel – with particular comfort thanks to the low step-through. The upright yet sporty geometry and the lightweight aluminium frame convey a pleasant seating position, while the wide Schwalbe tyres and the light fork bring comfort and smooth running. Thanks to its complete everyday equipment with lighting, carrier, mudguards and kickstand, the bike suits the daily commute as well as weekend trips and multi-day tours with luggage; the permitted total weight of 140 kg also allows for carrying a child seat. Within the Stevens range it sets itself apart from the sporty Camino series, which comes without fixed lighting and carrier, as well as from the Tour series (Aviolo, 6X Lite Tour) and the Urban series (Amant, Kalea, Strada). Riders looking for lower-maintenance drivetrains with belt and hub gear turn to the 5.2 or 7.2; those planning with a gearbox turn to the 8.2 or 9.2.
