Enable Youtube videosStevens Caleta 7.2 HT combines a lightweight Aluminium 6061 diamond frame with a particularly low-maintenance drivetrain of belt and hub gear. The Shimano Alfine SG-S7001-11 hub gear offers 11 gears with a gear range of 409% and shifts even when stationary – ideal for city traffic with many stops. It is driven via the Gates CDC Center Track belt with 122 teeth, which together with the Gates S550 CDX crankset and the 24-tooth sprocket forms a clean, quiet and at the same time durable drivetrain that needs neither oiling nor frequent retensioning. Braking is handled by the hydraulic Shimano BR-MT410 disc brakes and 180 mm SM-RT54 rotors, which bite powerfully and reliably. The hub-dynamo LED lighting with the Trelock Light Hammer 80 headlight (80 lux) and the B+M Xeltec Mini taillight with standlight function ensures good visibility and safety. The robust Shutter Precision PL-6 hub dynamo reliably powers the lighting. The extensive equipment also includes the sturdy Oxygen RM-26 Disc rims, a Racktime carrier with SNAP-IT-2.0, Kid'n'Carry and QL3.1 system, Curana Apollo mudguards, a kickstand and a bell. With 45 mm wide, tubeless-ready Schwalbe G-One Overland tyres and a permitted total weight of 140 kg, Caleta 7.2 HT is a low-maintenance companion for everyday life and leisure.
Caleta is the Spanish word for a small bay and refers to Caleta de Famara on Lanzarote, where Stevens tests its models extensively. The 7 places the bike in the middle series class, the 2 marks the second version with belt drive and hub gear. HT stands for “High Tube” and denotes the diamond frame with a high top tube and a sporty posture. Velvet Black, finally, names the elegant deep black finish.
Caleta 7.2 HT is the diamond-frame model of the belt-driven mid-range and lines up alongside the 7.2 LT with a low step-through. Within the family it is the second tier with belt and hub gear: below it sits the belt-driven 5.2 with the Shimano Nexus 8 hub, above it rank the 8.2 with Pinion C1.12 and the 9.2 with Pinion P1.18, which offer a far greater gear range. From the derailleur models 6.1, 7.1, 8.1 and 9.1 it differs through the low-maintenance belt drive, which runs clean and needs hardly any care. With the hydraulic Shimano BR-MT410 disc brake, 180 mm rotors, the Oxygen RM-26 Disc rims and the 80-lux hub-dynamo lighting, the 7.2 is solidly and practically equipped. Anyone who prefers a more upright, comfortable seating position and easier entry will find the same equipment in the LT version with a trapezoid frame.
Caleta 7.2 HT is a reliable city and trekking tourer for people looking for a low-maintenance, robust bike for daily use. The belt drive with the Alfine 11 hub gear is especially easy to care for and shifts even when stationary, an advantage in city traffic with frequent stops; the 409% gear range is enough for brisk riding as well as for most climbs. The rather sporty diamond geometry with a high top tube suits riders who like an active seating position. The wide Schwalbe tyres and the sturdy wheels provide smooth running and comfort, the powerful brakes and the hub-dynamo lighting provide safety. Thanks to complete FEQ equipment with carrier, mudguards, kickstand and bell, the bike is ready for everyday use straight away, and the permitted total weight of 140 kg allows for a child seat or luggage. Within the Stevens range it sets itself apart from the sporty Camino series, which comes without fixed lighting and carrier, as well as from the Tour series (Aviolo, 6X Lite Tour) and the Urban series (Amant, Kalea, Strada). Anyone who wants a greater gear range with a gearbox turns to the 8.2 or 9.2; anyone who prefers a low step-through turns to the 7.2 LT.
