The sporty city cross bike. Whether you're going on a multi-day tour with luggage, a weekend trip or your daily commute, the Caleta 6.1 guarantees maximum riding pleasure thanks to its dynamic, lively aluminium frame and lightweight aluminium fork. The Shimano CUES groupset ensures reliable and smooth gear changes on any terrain.
This sporty city cross bike features hub dynamo LED lighting, hydraulic Tektro brakes with 180 mm discs and high-quality 45 mm wide Schwalbe G-One Overland tyres.
Stevens Caleta 6.1 LT brings the value entry into the Caleta series in a comfortable trapezoid frame with a low step-through. The lightweight Aluminium 6061 frame harmonises with the reliable Shimano CUES U4000 drivetrain, whose 2x9 gearing with the FC-U4010-2 crankset (46-30 teeth) and the CS-LG300-9 cassette (11-36 teeth) provides 18 gears in total – enough for brisk city rides, the commute and leisurely trips. The robust LINKGLIDE CN-LG500 chain shifts smoothly and durably with little maintenance. Braking is handled by hydraulic Tektro HD-T280 disc brakes with large 180 mm rotors that bite firmly even in the wet. The hub-dynamo LED lighting made up of the AXA Dynamo 45 headlight (45 lux) and the AXA Juno taillight with standlight function keeps the bike road-safe in any weather. The complete everyday equipment includes the Racktime carrier with SNAP-IT-2.0 system, SKS mudguards, a Pletscher kickstand and a bell. The 45 mm wide, tubeless-ready Schwalbe G-One Overland tyres and the permitted total weight of 140 kg make Caleta 6.1 LT a dependable companion from carrying a child to doing the shopping.
Caleta is Spanish for “small bay” and refers to the coastal village of Caleta de Famara on Lanzarote, where Stevens tests its models extensively. The 6.1 is made up of series class 6 and the digit 1, which marks the first version of that tier with a classic chain drivetrain. The letters LT stand for “Low Tube” and denote the trapezoid frame with a sloping top tube that allows a comfortable low step-through. Harbor Cloud, finally, names the subtle blue-grey colour.
As the 6.1, this bike forms the entry into the derailleur family of the Caleta series. Above it rank the 7.1 with ten-speed and the 8.1 and 9.1 with eleven-speed CUES gearing, with the 9.1 additionally offering the higher-grade U8000 group. Compared with these siblings, the 6.1 relies on the U4000 group, hydraulic Tektro brakes, Oxygen rims and AXA lighting – a solid yet more affordable package. From the belt-driven models 5.2 and 7.2 and the Pinion variants 8.2 and 9.2 it differs through the classic chain, which is easy to maintain and repair. The trapezoid frame of the LT version appeals to everyone who values a comfortable step-through; anyone who prefers a sportier posture with a high top tube will find the same equipment in the HT version.
Caleta 6.1 LT is a sporty city-cross and trekking bike for leisure, everyday riding and commuting – especially for anyone who likes to mount and dismount comfortably. The upright seating position, the low step-through and the wide Schwalbe tyres combine comfort with stable smooth-running, while the 18-speed drivetrain offers enough range for most climbs and for brisk riding in the city. With the complete FEQ equipment of lighting, carrier, mudguards and kickstand, the bike is versatile from carrying a child and the weekly shop to multi-day touring with luggage; the permitted total weight of 140 kg allows for substantial loads. Within the Stevens range it sets itself apart from the sporty Camino series, which comes without fixed lighting and carrier, as well as from the Tour series (Aviolo, 6X Lite Tour) and the Urban series (Amant, Kalea, Strada). Riders who prefer lower-maintenance drivetrains with belt and hub gear turn to the 5.2 or 7.2; those planning with a gearbox turn to the 8.2 or 9.2.
