The Caleta 5.2 is a sophisticated touring bike with belt drive, lightweight aluminium frame in Pepper White and sturdy fork. The Shimano Nexus 8-speed hub gear ensures everyday practicality, together with the luggage rack and bright LED lighting.
This bike offers safety and style thanks to its hydraulic Tektro disc brakes – ideal for touring and commuting.
Stevens Caleta 5.2 HT pairs a lightweight Aluminium 6061 frame in diamond shape with an exceptionally easy-care drivetrain: a Gates CDN carbon belt with 122 teeth runs over a 50-tooth pulley and transfers power to the Shimano Nexus hub gear with eight speeds and a 307 percent gear range. Because the belt and hub operate as enclosed, sealed units, the drivetrain stays clean, quiet and weather-resistant – ideal for daily use in any conditions. Braking comes from hydraulic Tektro disc brakes with 180 mm rotors. For visibility and safety, the hub-dynamo LED lighting with the B+M Briq-S T Senso+ headlight (60 lux) and the AXA Juno taillight with standlight function is on board. The FEQ equipment includes a Racktime carrier with SNAP-IT-2.0, Kid'n'Carry and QL3.1 system, mudguards, a kickstand and a bell. With the 45 mm wide, tubeless-ready Schwalbe G-One Overland tyres and a permitted total weight of 140 kg, this becomes a fully furnished everyday companion for shopping, a child seat and multi-day tours.
The name leads to the coast: caleta comes from Spanish and means a small bay; it is named after the fishing village of Caleta de Famara on Lanzarote, where Stevens puts its models through extensive testing. The number sequence 5.2 places the bike at the base of the series – the five for the lower equipment level, the two for the second version of that tier. The letters HT stand for “High Tube” and mean the diamond frame with a high step-over. Pepper White, finally, names the creamy white finish.
Caleta 5.2 HT is one of the belt-driven models in the family and combines the Gates CDN carbon belt with the robust Shimano Nexus hub gear. That is precisely where it differs from its siblings 6.1 HT, 7.1 HT, 8.1 HT and 9.1, which run classic chains and derailleurs – from the CUES U4000 drivetrain of 6.1 HT through the U6000 group of 7.1 HT to the more finely stepped 2x11 drivetrains of 8.1 HT and 9.1. The top models 8.2 LT and 9.2 HT also rely on a belt, but there combined with the Pinion gearbox. The 7.2, in turn, pairs the belt with the eleven-speed Shimano Alfine hub and so rounds off the belt faction at the top. Anyone who prefers the same low-maintenance drivetrain with an easy step-through will find it in the LT sibling 5.2 LT. Every Caleta model comes in both frame forms: HT with a diamond frame and LT with a trapezoid frame.
Caleta 5.2 HT is a fully equipped touring and leisure companion (FEQ) for anyone who wants to simply hop on and ride: commuting, shopping, weekend trips and multi-day tours with luggage are all mastered with little effort thanks to the low-maintenance belt, the weather-protected Nexus hub and the bright hub-dynamo LED lighting. With a permitted total weight of 140 kg, it takes a child seat and luggage in its stride. Within the Stevens range it stands apart from sportier series such as Camino, which do without a carrier and lighting, as well as from the Tour series (Aviolo, 6X Lite Tour) with its stronger travel focus and the Urban series (Amant, Kalea, Strada) aimed at the city. Riders looking for a sportier derailleur entry point choose the 6.1 HT or 7.1 HT, while those who want maximum freedom from maintenance with a gearbox inside the frame turn to the Pinion models 8.2 LT and 9.2 HT.
