The 6061 aluminium frame with 142 mm O.L.D., BSA bottom bracket, postmount disc mounts and internal cable routing forms the backbone of this touring and travel bike. The HT diamond frame geometry delivers a well-balanced, comfortable riding position, while the earthy Bonsai Green colour brings the equipment back to earth – calm, robust and close to nature. At 16.8 kg the bike stays pleasantly manageable despite its extensive equipment, and the 140 kg total weight limit leaves plenty of room for rider, luggage and trailer. The SR Suntour NRX32IL-D with 60 mm of travel is adjustable via air pressure exactly to body weight and terrain, absorbing cobblestones, cycle paths and forest trails with composure.
The Shimano CUES U6000 2x10 derailleur drivetrain pairs two chainrings of 46 and 30 teeth with a 10-speed cassette ranging from 11-13-15-17-20-23-26-30-34-39 teeth. Twenty gears, selected by front and rear derailleur, combined with 44 teeth of total capacity, mean that steep passes and heavily loaded panniers are conquered calmly and at a steady pace. Tektro hydraulic disc brakes with 180 mm rotors and center lock deliver constant, immediate stopping power when rain, leaves or wet gravel make the surface slippery. The 45-622 Schwalbe Marathon Efficiency Performance tyres with ADDIX compound, RaceGuard puncture protection and reflective strips roll quickly and safely on asphalt, bike paths and good gravel alike.
Dynamo lighting is part of this bike's core concept: The Shutter Precision PL-6 hub dynamo powers the Trelock Light Hammer 80 LED headlight with 80 lux and the B+M Xeltec Mini stand rear light, so light is always available without charging it beforehand. The Racktime STV RC 04 luggage rack with SNAP IT 2.0 and QL3.1 system accepts side panniers, pannier bags and large travel bags – the basis for bikepacking, multi-day tours and commuting with shopping. “Aviolo" names the STEVENS series for travel and touring bikes whose concept is built on a lightweight aluminium frame, suspension fork, hub dynamo lighting, luggage rack and mudguards. The first digit reflects the equipment level within this range: the 5 and 6 models represent the entry level, level 7 is the fully equipped middle, and levels 8 and 9 are the more sophisticated variants. The digit after the point indicates the type of drive: all Aviolo 1 models – 6.1, 7.1, 8.1 and 9.1 – use a chain drivetrain, while the 5.2 combines a Shimano Nexus hub gear with a Gates carbon drive belt. “HT" stands for High Tube and names the classic diamond frame with a raised top tube, one of the frame shapes offered alongside LT and Forma.
The 7.1 is positioned between the 6.1 at 17.6 kg with a 63 mm steel suspension fork, Shimano CUES U4000 2x9 and 47 mm wide Continental Contact Urban tyres, and the 8.1 at 16.4 kg with a 60 mm magnesium air suspension fork and CUES U6000 2x11. In contrast to both, it relies on the 20-speed drivetrain, on the 45 mm Schwalbe tyres with RaceGuard and on an air fork that can be set individually. At the top of the range, the 9.1 offers 15.9 kg, Shimano CUES U8000 2x11 and dedicated CUES brake technology. Anyone who values comfort, weight and gear range in equal measure finds a well-balanced solution here – at 16.8 kg and 140 kg total weight, a bike that genuinely carries luggage without feeling heavy.
This bike covers the wide span between everyday commuting and trips lasting several weeks.
