The Aviolo 6.1 is your reliable bike for city and touring. With a lightweight aluminium frame, comfortable geometry, steel suspension fork (63 mm), Shimano CUES 2x9 gears and Conti Contact Urban tyres, it offers riding comfort, style and puncture protection.
This fully equipped bike also offers the right drive for every situation – whether on smooth asphalt or rough gravel. The Conti Contact Urban tyres roll easily, offer excellent puncture protection and thus contribute to an all-round harmonious riding experience.
The 6061 aluminium frame is built as an HT model – the classic diamond frame with a raised top tube that leads straight to the front rack. This shape is the sportiest of the three Aviolo frames, and it offers a practical advantage: with sizes XS, S, M, L, XL and XXL, the 6.1 HT covers the widest range of body sizes in the entire range, so very small and very tall riders alike find a matching frame height. 135 mm O.L.D., BSA 68 mm bottom bracket, postmount mounts for 160 mm rotors and internal cable routing keep the construction clean and low-maintenance. The matt deep Stealth Black with sparing gloss details suits a silhouette that radiates calm in the first place. At 17.6 kg with a total weight limit of 140 kg, the bike stays easy to handle in the city and robust on longer days.
The Shimano CUES U4000 works as a chain drivetrain with front and rear derailleur: the two-piece FC-U4010-2 crankset supplies the 46 and 30 tooth chainrings, and the 9-speed CS-LG300-9 cassette reaches from 11 to 36 teeth. This results in 18 gears and 41 teeth of total capacity – enough to ride flat city routes just as smoothly as a steep climb at the edge of town. The chain guard on the crankset catches anything that would otherwise snag on clothing, and the CN-LG500 LINKGLIDE chain connects two chainrings and the broadly geared wheel very quietly. Front derailleur FD-U4010-L and Shadow rear derailleur RD-U4020-SGS shift precisely and quietly.
Added to this is a setup designed for durability: The SR Suntour NRX32-SP steel suspension fork with 63 mm of travel absorbs unevenness reliably, without any adjustable components wearing out. Tektro HD-T280 hydraulic disc brakes with 180 mm Tektro TR180-35 rotors and centre lock provide even, rain-independent braking at any time via three-finger levers. The 47-622 Continental Contact Urban tyres with Safety Pro, PureGrip compound and reflective strips run in Oxygen Taurus 26 rims with 26x622 ETRTO – wide enough to roll smoothly at any cadence, and reflective enough to be seen early.
The full equipment makes the bike immediately ready to ride: The Shimano DH-3D37 hub dynamo supplies the AXA Dynamo 45 LED headlight with 45 lux and the AXA Juno stand rear light, with no batteries needing to be charged. The Racktime STV RC 11 luggage rack with SNAP IT 2.0 system accepts side panniers and pannier bags – the basis for commuting with luggage, shopping trips and day excursions with a bag. SKS mudguards, the Pletscher Comp kickstand with KSA 40 mount and the STEVENS D85 bell round off the equipment, while the Scorpo Rise handlebar with 700 mm width, 9° backsweep and 25 mm rise, the Oxygen stem at 17° and the Selle Royal Vivo Ergo saddle provide an upright, comfortable position. Taken together, this creates a bike that feels equally at home in city traffic and on the weekend excursion: 17.6 kg, ATB Alu Reflex pedals with reflectors and geometry that stays relaxed even with a loaded luggage rack. Child seats as well as trailers up to 40 kg or 80 kg with a trailer brake are approved.
“Aviolo" designates the STEVENS series of travel and touring bikes, whose construction consists of a lightweight aluminium frame, a suspension fork, hub dynamo lighting, a luggage rack and mudguards. The 6 stands for the equipment level and places the bike between the entry-level 5.2 and the more highly equipped levels 7 to 9. The 1 after the point identifies the type of drive: the Aviolo 1 models – 6.1, 7.1, 8.1 and 9.1 – all work with a chain drivetrain, while the 5.2 rides with Gates belt drive and Shimano Nexus 8. “HT" means High Tube and describes the diamond frame with a raised top tube, the classic shape of the bike – alongside the LT trapeze frame with a low top tube and the curved Forma with the lowest step-through. Stealth Black is the colour designation, a deep black with restrained gloss.
The 6.1 HT marks the middle of the range: above the 5.2 at 17.9 kg with Gates belt drive and Shimano Nexus 8, it stands with 18 gears and 41 teeth of capacity; below it come the 7.1 at 16.8 kg with 20 gears, 44 teeth and air suspension fork, and the 8.1 at 16.4 kg with CUES U6000 2x11, while the 9.1 at 15.8 kg with CUES U8000 2x11 and 48 teeth closes the range. Within the 6.1, the frame shape makes the difference: HT from XS to XXL, LT and Forma each from XS to L add up to fourteen sizes, and the HT version, with the wider 700 mm Scorpo Rise handlebar, represents the sportiest and largest variant. Technically all three shapes are identical – the decision depends on body size, preferred saddle height and taste when it comes to step-through height.
This bike is designed for the route that repeats itself daily: the way through the city centre, the cycle path along the river, the shopping trip at the weekend. The 47 mm tyres and 63 mm of travel damp cycle paths and cobblestones, the hydraulic disc brakes with 180 mm deliver reliable braking even in the rain, and the stand rear light keeps the route visible after dusk. The luggage rack takes shopping just as readily as commuting bags and the bag for a day trip; with approved child seats and trailers up to 40 kg or 80 kg with a trailer brake, it is also suitable for family rides. Compared with the 5.2, it is the variant for everyone who wants a real number of gears in the derailleur, and compared with the models featuring air suspension, the calmer choice with simpler technology and the widest size range in the range.
