As a sleek commuter for everyday urban life, the WILHELM XIV ROHLOFF presents itself in its cream-coloured version – reserved in colour, all the more present in technology. The sealed high-performance gearbox from Rohloff with 14 gears guarantees a long service life even under extreme conditions; the modern disc brakes and the luxurious components round off a bicycle of the extra class. Shifting technology made in Germany, a high-quality belt drive and elegant style make the WILHELM XIV a true state-of-the-art premium bicycle.

All 14 gears can be shifted individually one after another or skipping several gears in both directions; the shifter works with two shift cables. A total range of 526 per cent and evenly spaced gear steps keep the right gear ready for every riding situation. As a purist tourer, the WILHELM XIV is sporty and efficient at the same time: The Gates carbon belt (60 teeth at the front, 22 at the rear) harmonises perfectly with the Rohloff gearing, and the hydraulic Formula R1 disc brake delivers strong performance even on hills. The geometry is based on Schindelhauer's uncompromising singlespeed frame, but has been subtly adapted – the result is a relaxed, tour-ready seating position. At 11.3 kilogrammes, the noble athlete is also the lightest model in the series; the frame comes with a 5-year warranty. Components such as the Brooks B17, mudguards, the LightSKIN seat post or the lighting can be put together entirely according to your wishes.

What the building blocks WILHELM, XIV and ROHLOFF stand for

WILHELM is the custom bicycle system from Schindelhauer, built entirely according to your wishes. XIV stands in Roman numerals for the fourteen and marks the 14 gears of the Rohloff Speedhub. ROHLOFF reveals that one of the most renowned hub gears in the world works in the rear wheel – made in Germany. The colour addition describes the light cream white paintwork that gives the sleek bicycle its elegant appearance.

Why the Rohloff drive rides on its own

The WILHELM XIV relies on a different technology than the Pinion models: instead of a gearbox in the bottom bracket area, the Rohloff Speedhub works here as a sealed hub gear directly in the rear wheel. This makes the 14 gears extremely robust and low-maintenance, and thanks to the 526 per cent range there is the right gear for every situation – whether a quick ride or a steep ramp. While the Wilhelms with IX, XII and XVIII shift via the Pinion principle, the noble athlete clearly stands out: fewer moving parts in the frame, more protection for the shifting technology.

For whom the white commuter is most worthwhile

The WILHELM XIV ROHLOFF is the choice for everyone looking for a purist, durable bicycle with the highest technology and at the same time valuing a calm, elegant look. Whether on the daily commute, on longer tours or at demanding climbs – the 526 per cent total range and the strong brake system make it a reliable companion. Since the Berlin manufactory builds in small quantities, it pays to plan early and reserve the desired model with us. We will be happy to take the time for a personal test ride.
