Siegfried Road in midnight blue – a single gear is all you need to sprint nimbly through the city and stay in shape. The virtually silent Gates Carbon Drive ensures a quiet, smooth ride. Thanks to the flip-flop hub, the bike can be ridden as either a fixed-gear or single-speed bike. Sporty, elegant, and responsive—the Siegfried Road turns every route into a racetrack. Brooks details, polished components, and the curved fork embody the classic Schindelhauer look.
For sporty riders, the Siegfried Road opens up new possibilities. Carefully selected components make it a reliable training partner, while the fast tires provide extra propulsion.

Enable Youtube videosThe frame of Siegfried Road is built from triple-butted AL6061-T6 aluminium in an Aero-Shape tube set: wall thicknesses are increased where loads occur and thinned out where weight can be saved. The forged horizontal dropouts with the Crocodile belt tensioning system and the Belt Port keep the belt at exact tension forever, while internal cable routing, the integrated seat post clamp and ground-smooth welds carry the lines through cleanly. The curved aluminium fork takes the edge off bumps without losing its line – keeping the frame stiff enough to drive every pedal stroke forward and calm enough to make longer rides pleasant.
Siegfried Road is ridden with a single gear: the virtually maintenance-free Gates Carbon Drive CDX CenterTrack belt with 60 teeth up front and 22 at the rear transmits power evenly, cleanly and almost silently to the rear wheel. With no shifting parts, no movement at the crank is wasted, and the drivetrain stays service-free for years. The flip-flop hub with a second sprocket makes the bike versatile: one turn of the wheel switches the drivetrain between freewheel and fixed gear, so Siegfried Road can be ridden in a relaxed way as a singlespeed or directly as a fixed-gear. Underneath sits the Shimano Alfine Hollowtech II crankset with matching BSA bottom bracket – a stiff, dependable unit that is perfectly tuned to the belt.
Comfort on long rides comes from the Brooks Swift leather saddle and Brooks leather bar tape, while the drop bar opens up a fast yet never cramped hand position. Tektro R539 brakes with TRP RRL levers deliver precisely metered stopping power from any hand position. The wheelset of Alexrims CX30 rims and Sapim Race spokes is laced radially and three-cross, turning drivetrain impulses into speed without delay, while the Continental Grand Prix Classic tyres (25-622) roll over asphalt almost silently. At 8.9 kilograms Siegfried Road is easy to carry, and the ready mounting points for mudguards and a front rack turn the training bike into a companion for multi-day trips with light luggage up front.
The model name breaks down into two clearly separate parts. "Siegfried" reaches into Germanic saga and joins the Old High German words "sieg" and "fried" into a name that promises both victory and protection – a rider who comes through every encounter unscathed. That is exactly the unbending endurance the bike is meant to project: uncompromising, calm, tenacious. "Road", English for street, is the second half of the name and describes what sets this version apart: the drop bar, the narrow road tyres, the unmistakable racing air. Together the name tells of a bike that combines the legendary persistence of a hero with the speed of a road.
Siegfried Road shares frame, fork, belt drivetrain, flip-flop hub and Brooks details with Siegfried – the differences sit in the cockpit and on the road. Siegfried Road carries the drop bar with Brooks leather tape and the TRP RRL road levers, and the Continental Grand Prix Classic tyres (25-622) roll with very low resistance. Siegfried instead features the ergonomically shaped moon bar for an upright hand position and the Continental Grand Prix tyres geared towards everyday usability. A third take is "Siegfried super refined": a limited handcrafted edition of five bikes in which every weld was ground and polished by hand. So anyone looking for overview and a relaxed posture picks Siegfried, while anyone after maximum sporting directness picks Siegfried Road.
Siegfried Road is made for fast, athletic riding: training laps after work, brisk commuting runs, speed sessions through the city or fixed-gear sessions on the track – anywhere a single gear, a belt and a direct bar are exactly the right tools. The sporty, slightly upright riding position delivers an overview in traffic without cramping the rider. Quite different are the fully equipped everyday models such as Friedrich or Ludwig: an internal gear hub plus optional mudguards, rack and lighting turn them into weather and load carriers for the daily route. Wilhelm with Pinion gearbox and gravel geometry is aimed at terrain and long tours, while Viktor serves urban short-distance everyday life as an upright singlespeed. Siegfried Road is the choice when weight, directness and speed matter more than equipment.
