With a practical, functional but reduced design, Gustav is an urban all-rounder built to make the lives of everyday commuters easier. A key design highlight is the built-in front rack with its clever strap system. The rack is attached to the head tube and won’t upset the balance as you steer around corners. We’ve also designed an extremely adaptable strap system for the rack, so you can be sure that anything from picnic baskets to parcels remain securely fastened. Even with heavier objects on board, Gustav glides effortlessly through the city streets and you can enjoy a smooth ride.
Practical, functional, and yet minimalist in appearance – Gustav is a true
all-rounder for urban traffic, offering comfort and functionality for daily
commuting. One standout feature is the integrated front rack with its clever
strap system. The rack is firmly attached to the frame, meaning it does not
turn with the handlebars, allowing even larger loads to be carried safely
without affecting the bike’s handling. From picnic blankets to parcels, the
strap system developed by Schindelhauer provides flexible and reliable cargo
securing.
Thanks to the new Schindelhauer frame geometry, featuring a longer head tube and shorter stem, Gustav offers a comfortable riding position. Mounting a child seat is no problem, and a Thule child trailer can also be attached to the rear axle. Cobbled streets and uneven park paths become your new favorite shortcut thanks to the high-volume tires. Gustav is equipped with an 8-speed Shimano Nexus internal gear hub. The all-round package is completed by an elegant lighting design that integrates subtly into the Curana fenders.
