Enable Youtube videosThe Marin Alpine Trail EXR is the uncompromising flagship of the electric Alpine Trail family. Marin combines its hard-hitting full-power e-enduro platform with a premium component package: 160 mm of MultiTrac 2 LT rear travel, 170 mm up front, the powerful Bosch Performance Line CX drive system and high-end components from RockShox, SRAM, DT Swiss and PNW make the EXR ready for the most demanding trails.
XR stands for “Extra Rad” at Marin and identifies particularly high-spec models built with maximum performance in mind. With the Alpine Trail EXR, Marin brings this concept to its electric Alpine Trail platform, creating the top-tier option for riders who want premium suspension, drivetrain, brakes and wheels straight out of the box.
At the heart of the bike is the latest Bosch Performance Line CX Gen 5 motor. Delivering up to 120 Nm of torque, 750 watts and 600% support, it provides huge reserves for steep gradients and technical climbs. Despite its impressive output, the Bosch CX delivers its power in a natural and controllable way, helping maintain traction when climbing loose and technical terrain.
Marin pairs the powerful drive unit with a large 800Wh Bosch PowerTube battery. Neatly integrated into the downtube, the battery remains removable for charging, transportation or battery swaps. A lighter Bosch 600Wh battery can also be installed without additional parts, while the frame is prepared for the optional Bosch PowerMore additional battery.
A Bosch Kiox 400C color display is cleanly integrated into the top tube, providing important ride and system information while keeping the cockpit uncluttered. The Bosch Bluetooth Remote provides easy control, while compatibility with the Bosch eBike Flow app adds further adjustment and connectivity options.
The foundation is an all-new Series 4 aluminum frame developed around the latest Bosch CX drive unit. Marin's MultiTrac 2 LT suspension delivers 160 mm of rear travel, balancing sensitivity, support and progression. Combined with modern enduro geometry, the platform provides plenty of control through fast descents and challenging technical terrain.
As you'd expect from the flagship model, Marin equips the EXR with a premium RockShox Ultimate suspension package. A RockShox ZEB Ultimate fork with 170 mm of travel handles the front, while a custom-tuned RockShox Vivid Air Ultimate controls the MultiTrac 2 LT rear suspension. Extensive adjustment options allow riders to fine-tune the suspension to their weight, terrain and riding style.
One of the standout features of the Alpine Trail EXR is its electronic wireless SRAM GX Eagle AXS T-Type Transmission. The direct-mount Transmission derailleur eliminates the traditional shift cable and provides fast, precise electronic gear changes. Designed to perform under high loads, the system is particularly well suited to a powerful e-enduro. A wide-range 10–52T cassette provides the gearing needed for both steep climbs and fast trail sections.
Huge stopping power comes courtesy of SRAM Maven Silver four-piston brakes. Large 200 mm HSC rotors front and rear provide plenty of reserves and confident control on long, steep and high-speed descents.
The premium specification continues with the wheelset. Marin pairs tough DT Swiss M552 rims with DT Swiss 370 Hybrid hubs front and rear. These are wrapped in modern Schwalbe Magic Mary Gravity Pro Radial tires: a 29 x 2.5" front tire with the ultra-grippy Ultra Soft compound and a 27.5 x 2.5" rear tire with Soft compound.
The Alpine Trail EXR therefore comes standard with a mixed-wheel setup featuring a 29-inch front and 27.5-inch rear wheel. The larger front wheel delivers stability, traction and excellent rollover performance, while the smaller rear wheel keeps the bike agile and provides additional freedom of movement on steep terrain.
Highly adjustable geometry provides further opportunities to tune the bike to the rider and terrain. The upper headset cup allows ±0.75° of head angle adjustment, while rear flip chips alter bottom bracket height by 6 mm and chainstay length by 8 mm. This allows the EXR to be configured for maximum high-speed stability or a more agile feel on tight and technical trails.
Premium PNW components complete the flagship build. The PNW Loam dropper post provides 150, 170 or 200 mm of size-specific travel and is operated via a PNW Range lever. A wide 800 mm PNW Range handlebar and short 35 mm Marin CNC stem provide plenty of control and freedom of movement.
The Marin Alpine Trail EXR sits at the very top of the electric Alpine Trail platform. With its full-power Bosch CX drive system, large 800Wh battery, RockShox Ultimate suspension, electronic SRAM GX Eagle AXS Transmission, Maven Silver brakes and premium DT Swiss wheels, it's built for riders looking for a no-compromise e-enduro for the most demanding trails.
