Enable Youtube videosStylish appearance in midnight blue – this is what the WILHELM XVIII P-LINE stands for from the very first second. The deep, dark blue makes the elegantly curved AL6061-T6 frame of the custom bicycle look particularly noble, while in the bottom bracket area a Pinion P-Line with 18 gears ensures the most powerful drive of the Wilhelm family. With a gear range of 636 per cent, the bicycle belongs to the top category of urban bikes and is at the same time a modern statement in everyday life. The carbon belt drive promises little maintenance and a long service life – combined with the reduced appearance that makes this Wilhelm a real eye-catcher.
The Pinion gearbox was developed by former Porsche engineers and stands for the top class among bicycle transmissions. Thanks to its reduced design, its housing merges seamlessly into the frame design – a detail that underlines the high standard of the Berlin manufactory. Like all Wilhelm models, this bicycle is optimally balanced; thanks to the Pinion principle, the 18 gears can also be shifted reliably while stationary. A low bottom bracket as well as long head tubes and top tubes create a sporty, yet tour-ready seating position; all cables are routed internally. The Gates Carbon belt (39 teeth at the front, 28 at the rear) transfers power to the fine-toothed rear hub; the hydraulic Shimano Alfine S7000 disc brake with 160-millimetre rotors guarantees safe deceleration. The sporty Brooks Swallow Classic saddle and the ergonomic Schindelhauer leather grips enhance the riding feel. Mudguards, front and rear racks and optional lighting can be added easily thanks to mounting points and a permissible total weight of 120 kilogrammes.
WILHELM denotes Schindelhauer's custom bicycle system, which is built individually according to your own ideas. XVIII stands in Roman numerals for the eighteen and names the number of gears – the highest in the Wilhelm family. P-LINE marks the CNC-milled gearbox line from Pinion, developed by former Porsche engineers and regarded as the top class among bicycle transmissions. Finally, midnight blue describes the deep, dark blue tone of the paintwork that gives the bicycle its stylish, present appearance.
Within the P-Line family, the Wilhelm variants share frame, central gearbox principle and many components – decisive is the number of gears: IX offers nine gears, XII twelve and XVIII eighteen. The latter offers the largest gear range of the series with 636 per cent and thus the finest graduation for hills and fast stages alike. Anyone wanting maximum flexibility in traffic and on tours finds the most versatile P-Line model here. In midnight blue it appears calm and confident – a Wilhelm that shows presence without becoming loud.
The WILHELM XVIII P-LINE is the bicycle for everyone who wants a high-quality urban bike with maximum equipment: whether daily commute, sporty evening ride or longer weekend trip – the large range of the 18 gears and the tour-ready geometry make almost any route a pleasure. Mudguards, racks and optional lighting equip the bicycle for everyday use with luggage, and the permissible total weight of 120 kilogrammes allows even full loads. The carbon belt stays low-maintenance and durable – ideal for everyone who wants to ride a lot and maintain little.
