Enable Youtube videosSporty, individual and still suitable for everyday use – this is how the WILHELM XII P-LINE in garnet red presents itself. The deep, richly glowing red tone gives Schindelhauer's city custom bicycle a powerful, emotional appearance that will not be overlooked in the street scene. Beneath the elegant paintwork lies the same top class as in every P-Line variant: a CNC-milled Pinion gearbox with twelve gears, built for particularly high demands. The minimalist frame made of AL6061-T6 with an aero-shape tube set, triple butted and with smoothed welds, wears the colour like a second skin – and turns the bicycle into a real eye-catcher.
As in the entire Wilhelm construction, the gear unit sits centrally in the frame and keeps the bicycle optimally balanced; each of the twelve gears feels like a direct singlespeed ratio. A low bottom bracket as well as long head tubes and top tubes form a sporty, yet tour-ready seating position. Entirely in keeping with the purist design, all cables disappear inside the frame. The low-maintenance Gates Carbon belt (39 teeth at the front, 28 at the rear) transfers power to the fine-toothed rear hub; braking is done by the hydraulic Shimano Alfine S7000 system with 160-millimetre rotors. The Brooks Swallow Classic saddle and the ergonomic Schindelhauer leather grips complete the elegant appearance. Mudguards and front and rear racks can be mounted at any time, lighting can be added as an option – with a permissible total weight of 120 kilogrammes, the Wilhelm remains flexible for everyday use and trips.
WILHELM names the personalised custom bicycle family, which is built entirely according to your own ideas – from the colour to the last detail. XII is the Roman twelve and indicates the number of gears. P-LINE stands for the premium, CNC-milled gearbox line from Pinion, which is regarded as the top class among bicycle transmissions. Finally, garnet red names the noble, dark glowing red tone of the paintwork that gives this Wilhelm its very own character.
Within the P-Line range, the WILHELM XII P-LINE in garnet red shares its technical base with its siblings in raw aluminium, cream-white or midnight blue – the differences lie above all in the appearance. While the bare aluminium variant emphasises the cool, technical side, the garnet red radiates warmth and energy and gives the bicycle a sensuous, sporty note. In this way, the identical technical values, from the Gates belt to the Shimano disc brakes, can be staged in completely different ways. The saddle also remains the Brooks Swallow Classic, yet in combination with the red paintwork even the classic leather appears a little more temperamental. Wilhelm is after all a custom system – and the choice of colour is the most personal expression.
Thanks to its sporty seating position and the agile, balanced gearbox position, this Wilhelm is as suitable for daily city riding as it is for brisk weekend trips. In the city, the strong red attracts pleasant attention immediately while remaining timelessly elegant; on longer rides, saddle, grips and the tour-ready geometry ensure pleasant comfort. Anyone who understands their bicycle as part of their own style will find the ideal canvas for personal configuration in garnet red. Since every Wilhelm is tailored to individual wishes in small quantities, the bicycle can be customised precisely to rider and purpose – the best way to define the equipment is on a test ride at Radfieber.
