The strong, dark glowing red lends the urban diamond frame made of AL6061-T6 with an aero-shape tube set and triple-butted tubes a sporty-warm character that stands out from the crowd. The heart is the Pinion C-Line with six gears: a compact central gearbox that numbers among the smallest and at the same time most powerful of its kind and stands for pure cycling fun. A unique city bicycle – and thanks to individualisation just as personal as your own way through the city.
The central installation position of the Pinion unit ensures an optimal balance of the entire bicycle; each of the six gears transfers the drive as directly as one knows it from a singlespeed. On the Wilhelm with Pinion gearbox, the gears can also be shifted reliably while stationary – a comfort that is worth its weight in gold in dense city traffic. A low bottom bracket as well as long head tubes and top tubes create a sporty, yet tour-ready seating position; all cables run internally and preserve the purist look. The Gates Carbon belt (39 teeth at the front, 28 at the rear) drives the fine-toothed rear hub, while the hydraulic Shimano Alfine S7000 disc brake with 160-millimetre rotors ensures safe deceleration. The classic Brooks B17 saddle sits on the frame, complemented by the ergonomic Schindelhauer leather grips. With 120 kilogrammes of permissible total weight, mounting points for mudguards and racks, and optional lighting, the bicycle is fully suitable for everyday use.
WILHELM denotes Schindelhauer's custom bicycle system, which is assembled entirely according to personal ideas – from the colour tone to the equipment. VI is the Roman six and names the number of gears. C-LINE stands for the gearbox line from Pinion that was chosen for this city bicycle with its compact, powerful central gearboxes. Finally, garnet red describes the deep, noble red tone that gives the Wilhelm its striking appearance.
All Wilhelm variants share the basic idea of individual manufacturing – ultimately, the chosen gearbox line is responsible for the character. The C-Line forms the entry point into the Pinion system and scores with the smallest and at the same time most powerful central gearboxes; the P-Line, in turn, brings the CNC-milled gearbox line for even higher demands. With the saddle, the C-Line relies on the classic Brooks B17, while the sporty Swallow Classic accompanies the P-Line. In garnet red, the WILHELM VI C-LINE presents itself as an emotional all-rounder that convinces equally with its intense colour and its well-thought-out technology.
The WILHELM VI C-LINE is the relaxed everyday bicycle for everyone who wants to move freely in the city: compact and agile in traffic, equipped for almost any urban situation thanks to the six gears. The gear selection possible while stationary makes city starts and stops at traffic lights pleasantly uncomplicated. Mudguards, front and rear racks and optional lighting expand the range of use from the commute to a trip for coffee. The high payload potential of 120 kilogrammes allows even fully loaded panniers. Anyone who likes the intense red tone and is looking for a bicycle that cuts a fine figure both in everyday life and on a night out is excellently advised with this variant – it is most convincing on a test ride.
