Enable Youtube videosThe WILHELM XII Smart.Shift in alu pur combines outstanding engineering with the most modern drive technology and sets new standards in the premium urban bicycle segment. At its centre is the Pinion C-Line gearbox with twelve gears, shifted electronically via Smart.Shift – the gearbox technology developed by ex-Porsche engineers thus shifts even more smoothly and quickly, both while riding and when stationary. High-quality belt drive, modern hydraulic brakes and a refined, purist aluminium design round it off.
The Wilhelm is driven via the Gates carbon belt (39 teeth at the front, 28 at the rear, 111T belt) from the Pinion crank onto the fine-toothed Schindelhauer rear hub; the hydraulic Shimano Alfine S7000 disc brake with 160 millimetres brakes reliably. The triple-butted AL6061-T6 frame with internally routed cables, forged dropouts and slider belt-tensioning system keeps the line clear; the low bottom bracket and long head and top tubes create a sporty, tour-ready seating position. Continental GP Urban Classic tyres in 35-622, the Satori Noirette bar with Ergo leather grips, a Brooks leather saddle and CNC-milled urban pedals round off the premium package. Depending on the frame size, the Wilhelm weighs 12.0 to 12.6 kilogrammes; mudguards and front and rear racks can be mounted, the lighting is optional. Maximum total weight is 120 kilogrammes.
WILHELM is Schindelhauer's custom bicycle system, built individually according to your wishes. XII stands for the twelve-gear Pinion C-Line gearbox, which bundles the gears protected in the bottom bracket area. Smart.Shift names the electronic shifting for it: changed via the TRP HYWIRE shifter, precise and low-maintenance.
Because gearbox and belt work encapsulated, there is hardly any wear and no lubricants on the bicycle – exactly what makes the Wilhelm a low-maintenance premium commuter. Smart.Shift shifts electronically, without jerk, and also when stationary, for example at a traffic light. Together with the low-maintenance Gates belt and the hydraulic disc brakes, the drive stays constant and clean over many kilometres.
The WILHELM XII Smart.Shift in alu pur targets urban riders who value style, precision and maximum reliability – whether in commuter traffic, on commuting routes or on longer pleasure rides. With rack and mudguard mounting, it becomes a full-fledged everyday bicycle. Since Schindelhauer builds in small quantities, the delivery time is longer than usual; we will be happy to advise you in advance on equipment and size.
