The Schindelhauer WILHELM Singlespeed delivers minimalist design, a low-maintenance belt drive, and agile performance. Perfect for urban riders who value style, efficiency, and uncompromising speed.
The Wilhelm is a custom bike that is built to order. Unfortunately, we don't have pictures of all versions. In the single-speed version offered here, the bike comes with drop handlebars. The first picture with straight handlebars is for illustrating the color only!

Enable Youtube videosOne bicycle, one gear, fully focused: The WILHELM SSP is the singlespeed of the Schindelhauer custom bicycle line – purist in design, low-maintenance in drive and sporty and direct in ratio. In garnet red, it becomes a real eye-catcher: the strong red sets a clear statement in the streetscape and turns the single-gear riding feeling into an event. Ideal for urban riders who combine style, performance and dynamics in one bicycle.
The Gates carbon belt (60 teeth at the front, 22 at the rear) transfers every pedal turn with low losses to the fine-toothed Schindelhauer rear hub. Braking is handled by the hydraulic TRP Hylex disc brake with the weight-optimised, drilled brake levers. The low bottom bracket and long head and top tubes create a sporty, yet tour-ready seating position; all cables are routed internally. At 9.8 kilogrammes, the SSP is the lightest Wilhelm, and the Brooks B17 saddle with leather bar tape provides the noble touch. Mudguards and front and rear racks can be mounted; the permissible total weight is 120 kilogrammes.
WILHELM is the custom bicycle system from Schindelhauer, built entirely according to your wishes. SSP stands for singlespeed – a fixed ratio without gearbox that combines maximum directness and minimal maintenance. The colour addition describes the strong, deep red paintwork that gives the purist bicycle a powerful, almost sporty appearance.
Compared with the geared Wilhelms (IX, XII, XIV, XVIII), the SSP does without gearbox and derailleur – fewer components, less weight, less maintenance. Every push is felt directly at the rear wheel, and the belt drive runs almost silently and durably. This reduction to the essentials makes the SSP the fastest interpretation of the Wilhelm idea: anyone looking for the sleekest, most honest commuter will find it here – in a colour that draws attention without being loud.
The WILHELM SSP is aimed at an urban audience that combines flat routes with pure riding dynamics and does not want to do without style. Whether as a daily way to work or as a distinctive second bicycle – the singlespeed convinces through simple handling and the direct cranking feel. Since mudguards and racks can be mounted, it remains reliable in everyday life; and because Schindelhauer builds in small quantities, an early contact is recommended. Come by and take a test ride with the red flash.
