The WILHELM with Shimano Di2 shifting is Schindelhauer's custom bicycle for the city – sporty, agile and equipped with modern technology. Electronics make the difference: the Shimano Alfine hub gear with eleven gears shifts faster and more reliably than a mechanical system, and durability and resistance are clearly higher. In the combination alu pur/schwarz, the bicycle looks purist: bare aluminium meets black components – a tidy, urban appearance.

The triple-butted AL6061-T6 frame with internally routed cables keeps the look clean; the low bottom bracket and long head and top tubes create a sporty, yet tour-ready seating position. The Wilhelm is driven by the Gates carbon belt (39 teeth at the front, 28 at the rear) and braked by the hydraulic Shimano Alfine S7000 disc brake. The Continental GP Urban Classic tyres in 35-622 fit the urban profile; the Satori Noirette bar and Ergo leather grips, a Brooks leather saddle and CNC-milled urban pedals complete the equipment. Depending on the frame size, the weight is between 12.0 and 12.6 kilogrammes; mudguards, front and rear racks and lighting can be mounted or are optional. The total weight is a maximum of 120 kilogrammes.

What Wilhelm and Di2 stand for

Wilhelm is the custom bicycle line from Schindelhauer, built individually according to your wishes – for commuting, city everyday life or gravel trips. Di2 marks the electronic Shimano shifting: the eleven gears of the Alfine hub gear are changed at the touch of a button, precise and fast, and remain low-maintenance in the protected hub space. The colour name alu pur/schwarz describes the combination of bare aluminium and black components.

Why the electronic shifting pays off

Compared with mechanical systems, the Di2 hub gear works considerably more reliably: shifting actions are faster and more exact, and readjustment is not needed even after long use. Because the eleven gears sit protected in the rear hub, the bicycle stays ready for use even in rain and dust. The low bottom bracket and the long tubes make the Wilhelm a stable, comfortable companion – whether on the daily way to work or on light off-road sections.
