Enable Youtube videosDeep midnight blue – a colour that sounds like determination and yet remains elegant in the street scene. In this paintwork, the WILHELM IX P-LINE presents itself as a sporty, individual and innovative bicycle from Schindelhauer's city custom bicycle series. Beneath the dark, gleaming colour works a CNC-milled Pinion P-Line with nine gears, built for particularly high demands and, together with Schindelhauer, standing for the top class among bicycles. The result is a Wilhelm that knows no compromises either in everyday life or in the evening – and turns every ride into a confident statement.
With a total range of 364 per cent, the nine gears master almost any hill, and thanks to the central position of the gearbox the bicycle remains perfectly balanced – every gear conveys the directness of a singlespeed ratio. A low bottom bracket as well as long head tubes and top tubes form a sporty, yet tour-ready seating position; all cables disappear puristically into the frame. The Gates Carbon belt (39 teeth at the front, 28 at the rear) transfers the drive to the fine-toothed rear hub, while the hydraulic Shimano Alfine S7000 disc brake decelerates with 160-millimetre rotors. The sporty Brooks Swallow Classic saddle and the ergonomic Schindelhauer leather grips round off the picture. Mudguards, front and rear racks and optional lighting can be integrated into everyday life at any time thanks to the mounting points and the permissible total weight of 120 kilogrammes.
WILHELM is the name of Schindelhauer's highest model range, where individuality is the programme and every bicycle is built to personal wishes. IX counts the nine gears in Roman numerals. P-LINE marks the CNC-milled gearbox line from Pinion that plays in the top class among bicycle transmissions. Finally, midnight blue describes the deep, dark blue tone that gives the frame a calm, focused aura – like a night sky stretched over the city.
The IX P-Line presents itself in raw aluminium, cream-white and midnight blue – technically it is one and the same concept with CNC-milled Pinion and nine gears. What differs is how the light plays on the frame: in bare aluminium the bicycle looks matter-of-fact and technical, in cream-white refined and airy, and in midnight blue dark and elegant. Anyone looking for a serious yet unmistakable appearance that stands out in everyday life without being intrusive is perfectly served with the blue variant. The sporty Brooks Swallow Classic sits on the Schindelhauer seat post in all three versions and underlines the claim of the P-Line.
This Wilhelm is aimed at everyone who appreciates a quick, technically sophisticated city bike and at the same time values a stylish appearance. In the city, the central, balanced gearbox position convinces; on weekend trips, the sporty seating position and the large gear range come into play. With mudguards and racks it can be equipped for the commute, with optional lighting also for the evening ride – the 120-kilogramme payload even allows luggage for the weekend. And because every Wilhelm is tailored to individual wishes, the equipment can be cut exactly to your everyday life – a test ride shows best how comfortable the blue king model rides.
