The WILHELM GRAVEL Di2 in cream white is Schindelhauer's cross custom bicycle for bikepacking and crossriding – a gravel that impresses technically and visually. In contrast to mechanical systems, electronic shifting components take over the gear changes: the Shimano Alfine Di2 hub gear with eleven gears shifts considerably more reliably and faster, and durability and resistance are noticeably higher. The light, warm paintwork sets a calm counterpoint to the robust off-road technology.

The drive runs over the low-maintenance carbon belt; braking is handled by the hydraulic Shimano GRX disc brake on 160-millimetre discs, and shifting is done via the GRX shift lever. The triple-butted AL6061-T6 frame with aero-shape tube set and internal cable routing carries the Brooks Cambium C17 saddle and Cambium bar tape. Continental Terra Trail tyres are mounted in the wide 40-622 dimension. At 11.6 kilogrammes, the gravel stays slim; mountable mudguards, front and rear racks and optional lighting make it ready for travel. The permissible total weight is 120 kilogrammes.

What WILHELM, GRAVEL and Di2 stand for

WILHELM is the custom bicycle system from Schindelhauer, whose bicycles are built individually according to your wishes. GRAVEL names the cross and bikepacking variant for routes between road and terrain. Di2 stands for the electronic Shimano shifting: the eleven gears of the Alfine hub gear run via a button on the GRX lever and remain precise even under load. The colour addition describes the light, warm cream tone of the surface.

Why the Di2 version shifts so confidently

Classic Wilhelms work with mechanical cables; the Di2 variant replaces them with pure electronics. The result: gear changes in a short time, without effort and without readjustment in any weather. Because the eleven gears sit protected in the rear hub, little wears out – even in rough terrain shifting stays reliable. Together with the quiet Gates belt, this creates a drive that enables maximum concentration on long tours.
