The WILHELM GRAVEL Di2 is Schindelhauer's cross custom bicycle for bikepacking and crossriding: versatile, robust and eager to travel on asphalt and gravel alike. The granatrot finish is joined by the electronic Shimano Alfine Di2 hub gear with eleven gears, which makes gear changes precise, fast and comfortable – held together by the low-maintenance carbon belt drive. A bicycle for everyone who travels off the road with style, performance and dynamics.

The frame of triple-butted AL6061-T6 aluminium with a weight-optimised aero-shape tube set forms the base; braking is handled by the hydraulic Shimano GRX brake on 160-millimetre discs, shifting via the GRX shift lever. The Brooks Cambium C17 saddle with Cambium bar tape ensures comfort, and the Continental Terra Trail tyre is mounted in the wide 40-622 version. At 11.6 kilogrammes, the gravel stays slim thanks to the Hollowtech II crankset; internal cable routing, mountable mudguards and front and rear racks and optional lighting make it a true all-rounder. The permissible total weight is 120 kilogrammes.

What WILHELM, GRAVEL and Di2 stand for

WILHELM is the custom bicycle system from Schindelhauer that builds every bicycle individually according to your wishes. GRAVEL names the cross and bikepacking variant for mixed terrain between road and off-road. Di2 stands for the electronic Shimano Di2 components: the hub gear is operated electrically via the GRX shift levers, enabling precise shifts and a tidy cockpit. The colour addition describes the strong, deep red of the paintwork.

Why electronic hub gearing wins off-road

Unlike the classic Wilhelms with mechanical shifting, the GRAVEL combines the advantages of hub gearing and electronics: eleven gears sit protected in the rear wheel and wear little, and the change happens at the push of a button – fast, silent and reliable even under load. In addition, the Gates belt runs low-maintenance and does not get dirty, which ensures relaxed riding on dusty paths. The low bottom bracket and long head and top tubes provide a sporty, yet tour-ready seating position.
