Siegfried makes a statement. One gear is enough to race through the city or enjoy your daily commute to the office. Thanks to the flip-flop hub, Siegfried can be ridden as a fixed gear or single speed bike. Instead of a conventional chain, the maintenance-free carbon toothed belt ensures a smooth and quiet ride.
Timeless, straightforward, and fast. Visually, Siegfried stands out with its classic-looking, polished components and leather accents from Brooks.

Beneath it works the same tidy craftsmanship as in every Siegfried version: the forged horizontal dropout holds the Crocodile tensioning system and the Belt Port, which makes the frame opening nearly disappear and changing the belt easy, while the integrated seat clamp, internal cable routing and ground-smooth welds keep the look unobtrusive. Curved aluminium fork, aluminium moon bar, Brooks leather bar tape and the Brooks Swift saddle on its chrome frame provide a sporty upright posture with soft contact points, while Alexrims CX30 rims with radially and three-cross laced Sapim Race spokes, Tektro R539 brakes with FL750 levers and Continental Grand Prix tyres (28-622) join safety and speed. Mudguards, a front rack and lighting can be added, and 8.6 kilograms of weight with a permitted total load of 120 kilograms complete the package.
The drivetrain offers a choice without needing a gear system: two sprockets sit on the flip-flop rear hub, so you switch between freewheel and fixed gear by taking the wheel off and turning it. With the freewheel Siegfried midnight blue rolls on silently and lets the legs spin through descents; as a fixie a seamless connection forms from pedal to rear end, where the rider regulates speed through the pedals and feels the bike immediately. The Gates Carbon Drive CDX (60 teeth front, 22 teeth rear, 115 links) transmits power quietly and without lubricant, supported by the Shimano Alfine Hollowtech II crank on the BSA bottom bracket, which feeds the pedalling motion steadily into the belt. High-flange hub, generously laced wheels and the wide tyre form a stiff, permanently tensioned system with this drivetrain – exactly what a bike working every day in dense traffic needs.
"Siegfried" combines the Old High German words "sieg" and "fried" and thus describes the one who wins and brings calm afterwards. The saga of the dragon slayer hardly knows a more famous figure in the German-speaking world, and applied to a bike the name says exactly what the technology delivers: unstoppable progress without a big appearance. This version therefore carries the name not as decoration but as self-description – a bike that gets its way without getting loud, and that turns the everyday into a clear, elegant affair.
Within the family it is mainly surface and cockpit that separate the versions: midnight blue shows the same construction in dark lacquer, while alu pur carries the untreated aluminium and thus celebrates the original look presented at Eurobike 2009 – both share frame, fork, moon bar, Brooks spec, 28-622 tyres and the 8.6-kilogram balance. Siegfried Road, in turn, builds a clearly sportier cockpit on the same base with drop bar, TRP RRL levers and narrow 25-622 tyres and weighs 8.9 kilograms. The limited "Siegfried super refined" edition stands beside them as a hand-finished exception: five bikes in which every weld was ground and polished by hand. The common base – belt drivetrain, flip-flop hub, minimalist design language – is preserved in all versions.
This bike is made for daily use that should be enjoyable: the way to work in the morning, errands in the afternoon, a spontaneous lap through the city in the evening – anywhere one gear is enough and reliability counts. The belt drive makes that easier every single time: no chain oil on the trousers, no chain noise in front of the door, minimal maintenance, and the pedal stroke stays smooth no matter how often the traffic involves stop and start. The flip-flop choice adds variety, so the same commute is ridden relaxed and gliding one moment and actively in fixie mode the next. Those carrying luggage mount a front rack and mudguards, lighting comes as needed, and at 8.6 kilograms the bike carries up the stairs without trouble. The sporty upright posture keeps traffic in view, turning the commute into a stretch you look forward to.
