Whether you're going on a bike tour or a city ride, with a weight of only 10.2 kg and Shimano Alfine 8-speed hub gears, this all-round bike with a low frame will get you to your destination in comfort. Instead of a conventional chain, the maintenance-free Gates Carbon Drive CDX CenterTrack toothed belt ensures a smooth, quiet and fast ride.
With a spread of 307% on the 8-speed hub, it offers enough range for any terrain. The ratchet-free freewheel is whisper-quiet and an ideal complement to the silent toothed belt.

Enable Youtube videosThe frame of Lotte is built from AL6061-T6 aluminium and uses an Aero-Shape tube set with triple-butted tubes: this saves mass where no forces act and keeps stiffness where it matters. Forged dropouts with the slider tensioning system and the Belt Port hold the belt in exact tension at all times, while internal cable routing, the integrated seat clamp and smoothed weld seams keep the line clean. The curved aluminium fork absorbs the shocks of the road surface without softening the precise steering – the base for a bike that has to hold its own in daily traffic.
Lotte is driven by the maintenance-free Gates Carbon Drive CDX: 55-tooth chainring, 22-tooth sprocket, 115-link belt – silent, clean and free of lubricating oil. The Shimano Alfine 8-speed hub converts that power with 307 per cent of range, giving headroom for headwinds and enough fine gradation for a quick stretch between appointments. The freewheel runs whisper-quiet and underlines the silent character of the belt drive, while the hollow Alfine crank with its Hollowtech II bottom bracket passes force stiffly and efficiently through the external bearings. Belt, hub and crank mesh in a way that keeps Lotte easy-moving for a long time and in need of very little care.
What makes Lotte practical for everyday use is the network of prepared mounting points: mudguards, front and rear racks, a kickstand and a lighting system can be attached cleanly, so a slim bikepacking or commuting setup can be built without disturbing the calm silhouette. Continental Contact II tyres with reflective stripes provide grip and visibility, the Tektro R539 and FL750 rim brakes bite cleanly and progressively. Brooks B17 S Lady, the hand-stitched ergo leather grips and the moon handlebar place hands and seat in an upright, relaxed posture. The result is a light, low-maintenance bike that is as happy on the commute as it is on a relaxed weekend ride.
Lotte is a female first name that has been familiar for centuries – a short form of Charlotte and a classic in Germany. Names like this carry charm, familiarity and a touch of tradition; exactly that blend of elegance and everyday suitability is what this bike expresses. The model designation consists of exactly two parts: the first name Lotte and the colour note ruby red behind the slash, which names the specific version. Since the entire range works with first names rather than cryptic abbreviations, each version gains a personality of its own – Lotte stands for the approachable, warm-hearted variant that stays stylish without taking itself seriously.
Lotte shares its frame concept with Ludwig: the same aluminium platform from the Aero-Shape tube set, the same Gates belt drive, the same Alfine hub. The difference lies in the tuning. With a lowered top tube, a higher head tube and a lower bottom bracket, Lotte sits noticeably more upright than Ludwig, whose lengthened top tube and larger wheelbase lean towards sport. The Brooks B17 S Lady is cut to the female anatomy, and the seating position itself is geared towards relaxation rather than speed. Compared with Friedrich and Frieda, the fully equipped touring versions delivered from the factory with mudguards, lights and a rack, Lotte stays slim and light; compared with the singlespeed-based Viktor and Siegfried, the Alfine hub provides eight gears that make gradients and long stretches into headwind calm to ride.
Lotte is built as an everyday city bike: ride to work, errands, spontaneous detours and long weekend loops can all be covered equally well on it. The upright seating position created by the lowered top tube and higher head tube keeps the view open to traffic, and the quiet belt drive makes the route as pleasant early in the morning as it is in the evening. Compared with Ludwig, Lotte puts more emphasis on calm than on speed, while Friedrich and Frieda, with their factory-fitted full equipment, are aimed above all at all-weather commuting and loaded tours – Lotte remains the lighter, more flexible bike. With Viktor and Siegfried, which do without gears altogether, Lotte gains everyday usefulness from the eight speeds of the Alfine hub. As the female counterpart, Lotte accompanies Ludwig within the family; in addition, a frame with a lower step-through has arrived there, while Lotte keeps the classic diamond form.
