The Hector is designed for the track, but its carbon belt makes this single-speed bike suitable for everyday use: with a freewheel and Tektro brakes, it brings track-level performance straight into your urban daily life. The extremely stiff frame and precisely tuned geometry ensure a direct and agile riding experience.
Its roots lie in the velodrome and criterium racing. The frame is based on a triple-butted aero tube set and is particularly valued by Team Schindelhauer Gates for its high stiffness and superb handling.

Enable Youtube videosWith its dragon-fruit pink finish, HEKTOR appears in a completely new light: the track bike presents itself striking, fresh and technically uncompromising at the same time. The frame of triple-butted aluminium (AL6061-T6) with smoothed seams and the straight carbon monocoque fork form an extremely stiff unit, powered by the Gates Carbon Drive CDX belt. Since this is the Singlespeed version, the belt runs over 60 teeth at the front and 22 teeth at the rear on a 9-spline sprocket – a single gear that includes a freewheel and works entirely without shifting. This combination suits the city perfectly: the belt stays clean and quiet, and the drive is more direct than any chain gear. The Tektro brake system with TRP RRL levers brings the bike to a safe stop, while Continental Ultrasport III tyres roll on Alexrims CX30 rims with Sapim Race spokes. Internal cable routing, the Belt Port and an integrated seat clamp preserve the tidy appearance; optional Urban Pedals and pedal straps perfect it.
Hektor bears the name of the famous Trojan prince who is regarded in Greek mythology as a model of bravery and honour. The choice fits the concept: this bike, too, is meant to excel on the track. The suffix Singlespeed explains the drive unit – exactly one gear ratio that needs no shift levers and reduces the drivetrain to the essentials. Freedom, clarity and direct power are thus the core message of the model name.
Schindelhauer offers HEKTOR in two versions. While the Fixed Gear version uses a firmly connected hub and rides without a freewheel, the Singlespeed version combines the freewheel with a Tektro brake system. Frame, belt and internal cable routing are identical; the difference therefore lies solely in the gear and braking setup. The Fixed Gear is aimed at purists of the track, while the Singlespeed version addresses everyone who wants to enjoy the race DNA in everyday life as well.
HEKTOR has its origins on the velodrome and at criterium races, where stiffness and the direct belt drive deliver speed and control. With a freewheel and rim brakes, the Singlespeed variant additionally opens up the urban sphere: commuting, doing sport and being stylishly on the move fit together here. Compared with the comfort-oriented models Wilhelm, Hannah and Siegfried from the city, trekking and gravel segments, HEKTOR remains the sporty track talent of the Schindelhauer manufactory.
