Friedrich sets new standards as a classic urban bicycle: maintenance-free carbon toothed belt, Shimano Alfine11-speed hub gear, smoothed weld seams using the ‘flat-welding’ process, lightweight mudguards, high-quality dynamo lighting system and a luggage rack specially manufactured for Schindelhauer with integrated lighting from Supernova.
The minimalist design harmonises perfectly with all components and creates a symbiosis of sporty elegance and touring-friendly features. This is complemented by a relaxed seating position and comfortable frame geometry. Agile and efficient in the city, Friedrich is also the ideal companion for weekend excursions. Thanks to high-quality components and the best workmanship, this bicycle is built to last.

Enable Youtube videosFriedrich is Schindelhauer's comfortable urban bike – now available for the first time in petrol as a limited edition. The AL6061-T6 aluminium diamond frame with tapered aluminium fork and 15 mm through-axle is stiff, light and completely unsuspended. Instead of a chain, the maintenance-free Gates Carbon Drive CDX belt keeps the ride quiet and clean. The mechanical Shimano Alfine hub gear delivers 11 speeds for stop-and-go city traffic as well as for climbing out of town. A Shutter Precision PD-8X hub dynamo powers the Supernova Pure3 headlight and E3 tail light – always on, with no battery to charge. Continental GP Urban Classic tyres in 35-622 (28 inch) absorb rough surfaces while rolling efficiently. A Brooks B17 saddle, Curana D-Lite mudguards and the slim Tubus Fly rear rack complete the package. It is built for daily commuting, weekend trips and everything in between; for bikepacking simply add side bags to the rack – mounts for bottle cages and a lock are provided as well. Every single bike of this limited run is individually numbered by engraving.
The model name is built from the Old German roots „fridu" and „rīch": peace and ruler, meaning roughly „peace ruler". Schindelhauer deliberately uses a line of classic, quiet first names that match the clean design language of the Berlin workshop.
The Friedrich VIII still uses the Shimano Alfine 8-speed hub gear and weighs 13.2 kg, while the Friedrich XI works with 11 speeds and 13.1 kg. The Limited Edition stands out with its petrol paint job, individual engraving and a run of only 150 pieces. The FRIEDA is the women's version with a trapez frame and Alfine 8-speed. If you want a centre gear, choose the WILHELM range with Pinion shifting; if you want it as light as possible, take the SIEGFRIED single speed – and the E-bikes such as the ARTHUR add a Mahle motor to the line-up.
Friedrich is made for everyday urban use: commuting through the city, quick rides across town, but also relaxed weekend trips in the countryside – with 11 gears, dynamo lighting and a rear rack it is always ready to travel. Its counterpart in the same series is the FRIEDA with a trapez frame; frame-form alternatives are the classic diamond frame of Friedrich itself or the sportier city frame of the WILHELM.
