Enable Youtube videosThe Ridley ASTR GRX600 1x12 is a performance-oriented gravel bike that combines speed, aerodynamics and off-road capability. Inspired by the high-end ASTR RS, it features the same modern gravel racing geometry and many of its aerodynamic technologies. With a premium carbon frame, Shimano GRX 1x12 drivetrain and generous tire clearance of up to 52 mm, the ASTR is ready for fast gravel races, demanding training sessions and high-speed adventures on mixed terrain.
At the heart of the ASTR is a high-quality HM carbon frame from Ridley's Essential Series. Its development follows the Aero-to-Weight philosophy, combining aerodynamic efficiency, low weight and excellent stiffness in a balanced package.
The aerodynamically optimized tube profiles help reduce drag, while the specially designed carbon fork features an integrated diffuser in the fork crown. This innovative design improves airflow around the fork and down tube, reducing aerodynamic resistance and improving efficiency at higher speeds.
The Ridley ASTR has been specifically developed for performance-oriented gravel riding. A head tube angle of approximately 71.5 degrees provides responsive handling, while the steep seat tube angle of around 74 degrees supports efficient power transfer.
Short chainstays contribute to agile acceleration and responsive handling. The relatively low bottom bracket improves stability at high speeds, while the lower head tube allows riders to adopt an aerodynamic racing position.
The result is a modern gravel racing bike that combines road-bike-like efficiency with the control needed on fast and technical gravel courses.
One of the ASTR's standout features is its generous tire clearance. With the 1x12 drivetrain configuration, the frame accommodates tires measuring up to 52 mm in actual width. This allows riders to choose wider gravel tires for increased grip, comfort and control on loose or challenging surfaces.
The bike comes equipped with 50 mm Vittoria Terreno T50 tires. These tubeless-ready tires provide a versatile setup for fast gravel riding and changing terrain conditions. Combined with Shimano RX180 tubeless-ready wheels, they create a capable package for ambitious gravel riders.
The mechanical Shimano GRX 1x12 drivetrain is specifically designed for gravel riding. Its single-chainring setup simplifies shifting and reduces mechanical complexity, making gear changes intuitive even on rough terrain.
A Shimano GRX 610 crankset with a 40-tooth chainring is paired with a wide-range Shimano SLX 10-45 cassette. The Shimano GRX 800 rear derailleur delivers precise shifting and reliable chain management.
This combination provides a versatile range of gears for fast sections, rolling terrain and challenging climbs.
The 4ZA Stratos Pro handlebar and Forza Stratos Pro stem feature semi-integrated cable routing for a clean appearance and a sporty riding position. A 27.2 mm 4ZA Cirrus seatpost and Selle Italia Model A saddle complete the carefully selected component package.
Hydraulic disc brakes provide reliable stopping power and excellent modulation in changing conditions. The frame also features a Universal Derailleur Hanger (UDH), making replacement parts easier to source.
The Ridley ASTR GRX600 1x12 is designed for ambitious gravel cyclists looking for a fast, responsive and versatile bike. Whether competing in gravel races, tackling demanding training sessions or exploring unpaved roads at speed, the ASTR delivers an impressive combination of aerodynamic efficiency, modern geometry and off-road performance.
