THE PROFESSIONAL TRACK BIKE: The Arena A has track-specific geometry to conquer the velodrome. The bike's aggressive stance and steep angles reflect the immediate responsiveness of the aluminum frame. Every pedal stroke is converted into forward momentum. With every turn of the crank, you feel the surge of power that allows you to accelerate seamlessly on the track. The full carbon fork ensures precise handling and maintains control, even when you push the limits of speed.
The Arena A is your ticket to riding faster and breaking records on the velodrome! The Arena A is UCI approved and can therefore be used in UCI sanctioned races.
The Ridley Arena Alu is the ideal gateway into track cycling: thanks to its triple-butted frame made from 7005-T6 aluminium, the bike stays light yet reacts instantly to every acceleration. The characteristically aggressive track geometry with steep angles turns muscle power straight into forward motion – each pedal stroke drives the machine around the oval boards. A full-carbon fork adds precision handling, even when the pace climbs to its limits.
Power is delivered through a classic fixed-gear drivetrain with exactly one ratio: up front a Miche Pistard 2.0 crank with 52 teeth, at the rear a 16-tooth Miche cog. You'll look in vain for derailleurs, cables or a freewheel – the drivetrain is stripped back and pleasantly low-maintenance. There is no lighting at all, nor mounts for mudguards, racks or bikepacking bags; no doubt about it: this is an uncompromising race bike for the velodrome.
Standout equipment includes the aero DT Swiss T1800 Spline wheels (30 mm deep, tubeless ready, bolt-on), the Deda cockpit with Pista handlebar, the Selle Italia Model X saddle and the quick Vittoria Rubino Pro G2.0 tyres in 700×25c. On top of that, the frame carries UCI approval, so the Arena Alu may also line up at officially sanctioned competitions.
The bike's name is made up of several telling elements: "Arena" points to the home of track racing – the velodrome, a round competition arena where sprinters and endurance riders go head-to-head. "Alu" simply names the frame material, triple-butted 7005-T6 aluminium. "Miche Pistard" refers to the drivetrain group fitted, whose Pistard crank has become the hallmark of many track bikes. And "Dark Denim metallic" describes the finish: a refined, metallic-shimmering indigo blue reminiscent of dark denim fabric.
The Arena series comprises several variants with different personalities. The Arena Alu presented here (also called Arena A) is the entry point of the family and relies on an aluminium frame, while its siblings Arena C and Arena Fast are built from carbon. Compared with the single-purposed speed machine Arena Fast, which is designed for pursuit and sprint, the aluminium model offers a more accessible geometry and a far friendlier price. The Omnium Fast, in turn, was developed with nimble handling for bunch sprints – while the Arena Alu is the versatile all-rounder for everyone who wants to discover track cycling in the first place.
The purpose of the Ridley Arena Alu is obvious: it's the affordable entry ticket into track cycling. Whether training on the indoor boards or competing in your first amateur race, the bike was built for riders who want to learn the fundamentals of track riding and try their hand on a race track. Thanks to its UCI approval, it is also permitted in regulated competitions. Those chasing world records at the highest level reach for the Arena Fast; those contesting mass-start disciplines, for the Omnium Fast. The Arena Alu, then, is the ideal companion for club riders, newcomers and everyone seeking to take the step into the sport without compromising on price.
