The Marin Nicasio+ is our Nic’ with a modern twist, switching in big-volume 47mm rubber, 650b wheels and a sleek and simple 1X drivetrain.
We also specced a microSHIFT 1x9 drivetrain, powerful Tektro mechanical discs and plenty of Marin components. Those WTB Horizon 650Bx47mm tires not only provide a cloud-like ride, but also look super dreamy with tan sidewalls.

Enable Youtube videosThe Marin Nicasio+ 650B is a fresh take on the beloved Nicasio formula, engineered for riders who put cushioning and stability above all else. Its Steezy double-butted chromoly steel frame – finished with a matching steel fork – delivers the time-honored supple ride feel that only quality steel can provide. Instead of conventional 700C hoops, this model rolls on 650B wheels wrapped in wide WTB Horizon 650x47mm tires, whose generous volume soaks up rough gravel, cobbles, and trail imperfections with ease – the signature plus-size comfort that turns any path into a smooth boulevard. Drivetrain simplicity is the order of the day: a single-ring microSHIFT Advent derailleur with clutch paired to an FSA Vero Pro 42T chainring offers a massive 11-46T gear range across nine gears, without a front mech to fuss over. Mechanical Tektro MDC400 disc brakes with 160mm rotors deliver dependable, easy-to-modulate stopping power in all conditions. Generous fender, rack, and bottle bosses throughout the frame make commuting and bikepacking setups a breeze, while the handsome tan sidewalls of the tires add vintage charm. No lighting is included from the factory, but the abundant frame mounts make retrofitting a front and rear light setup completely straightforward.
This model name is a two-part narrative. „Nicasio" roots the bike within a wider family and borrows its name from the tranquil Nicasio Valley in California's Marin County – a quiet haunt for long-distance road riders and a fitting emblem for the series' relaxed, nature-appreciating ethos. The trailing „+" however is the true protagonist: it flags the plus-size tire concept, signaling a version that has grown beyond the classic mold to offer extra volume, extra comfort, and extra confidence. In short, the name whispers "tradition," then shouts "more of everything."
The most obvious divergence between the Nicasio+ and the rest of the family is the wheel format: while the Nicasio 1, 2, and 3 roll nimbly on 700C wheels, this plus-badged member cruises on roomier 650B rims wearing chunky 47mm tires – translating to substantially more air volume, comfort, and off-pavement traction. It is also the only model in the line to employ a microSHIFT Advent drivetrain with a single front chainring and nine cogs (1x9), keeping shifting refreshingly uncomplicated. Where the Nicasio 1 pairs 700C wheels with a 2x8 groupset and the 2 and 3 chase sporty performance, the Nicasio+ deliberately prioritizes plushness and ease of use – appealing to riders who want a soft, forgiving ride above all.
The Nicasio+ 650B was conceived for journeys that care more about enjoyment than elapsed time: daily commutes over bumpy city streets, leisure spins down gravel lanes, loaded bikepacking overnighters, or unhurried urban cruising. Its wide, tall tires paired with a stable, upright geometry deliver a level of comfort that softens even the roughest surfaces into a relaxed ride. This stands in clear contrast to the speed-focused Nicasio siblings, which lean toward performance and precision; the Nicasio+ chooses instead to coddle its rider, soaking up terrain rather than challenging it, while still proving remarkably capable on long trips. Combined with abundant mounting options and a fuss-free 1x drivetrain, it emerges as the natural companion for cargo hauling, daily errands, and open-ended adventures alike.
