Enable Youtube videosThe Marin Lombard E2 is the top model of the Lombard E family and a full-fledged e-gravel bike. At its core sits the lightweight Bosch SX drive unit (250 W, 55 Nm), powered by a 400 Wh PowerTube battery discreetly integrated into the frame. The frame is built from modern 6061 aluminium (Series 4 "Beyond Road" construction geometry) and paired with a high-quality full-carbon fork – light weight meets maximum stiffness. Shifting is taken care of by a wireless Shimano GRX Di2 electronic groupset with 12 speeds, delivering lightning-fast and precise gear changes without any cables. There is no factory-installed lighting, so you are free to pick your own lamp set for your specific needs. Special extras include an internally routed TranzX dropper post, powerful Shimano GRX RX820 hydraulic disc brakes and tubeless-compatible 700x44 tyres. Numerous mounting points for mudguards, carriers and a kickstand also make the bike the perfect platform for bikepacking adventures.
The model name "Lombard" pays tribute to the renowned Lombard Street in San Francisco – the legendary road famous for its tight hairpin turns and steep climbs. Just like that extraordinary stretch of asphalt, the bike embodies cornering fun, uphill rides and plenty of everyday adventure. Combined with the electric drivetrain, it perfectly captures the idea of conquering winding serpentines with ease.
The model name is made up of three elements, each carrying its own meaning. "Lombard" refers to the geographical namesake and gives the range its unmistakable character. The "E" marks all electrified derivatives of the platform and clearly distinguishes them from the purely pedal-powered sibling models. The number "2" finally denotes the highest equipment grade within the E-series and identifies the premium model of the family.
Compared directly with the more affordable Lombard E1, the E2 arrives with clear upgrades. Instead of the mechanical GRX drivetrain, this model uses the wireless electronic Di2 version, which enables drastically more precise and faster shifts. It is joined by the more powerful Shimano GRX RX820 disc brakes, a premium e*thirteen crankset and the adjustable TranzX dropper post, which makes the bike noticeably more controllable and comfortable off-road. The premium of roughly €720 reflects these significantly higher-end components.
The Lombard E2 is designed as a versatile companion that masters the daily commute just as confidently as long gravel excursions into the countryside. Unlike the more pragmatic and commuter-oriented E1, the E2 is deliberately sharpened for demanding terrain: the dropper post, grippier tyres and electronic shifting make it the first choice for gravel adventures, technical trails and extended bikepacking routes. The sporty and natural Bosch SX assist quietly supports you up to 25 km/h while always preserving the feeling of actively riding yourself.
