Knog is an Australian bicycle and outdoor accessories brand founded in 2002/2003 in Melbourne, Australia, by friends Hugo Davidson (designer) and Mal McKechnie (engineer). The two wanted to develop products that are different, functional, and at the same time stylish – moving away from the uniform design of traditional bicycle accessories. Since then, Knog has grown into a globally recognized brand represented in over 40 countries and is known for its creative, well-thought-out products with strong design accents.
The name “Knog” is a creatively invented word based on the British-Australian slang term “noggin” – an informal expression for the head / brain (meaning “use your head!”). The founders wanted a short, memorable name that reflects the brand’s design and ideas mindset. They shortened “noggin” to “nog” and added a silent “k”, creating “Knog” – an expression of creativity, thinking, and unconventional solutions.
At Radfieber you will find a stylish selection of elegant bicycle bells.
The Knog brand was founded in 2002 in Melbourne, Australia, by friends Hugo Davidson, a product designer, and Mal McKechnie, a mechanical engineer. They wanted to develop bike accessories that are both functional and stylish, standing out from conventional uniform design. The name Knog derives from the British-Australian slang word noggin, colloquially meaning head or brain. The founders shortened noggin to nog and added a silent k. Knog has since stood for creativity and smart solutions. Today the company is present in more than forty countries and employs a team of over twenty designers, engineers and marketing specialists.
The first product was the Frog, a globally novel silicone bike light launched in 2008 that sold millions of units. Gradually, Knog expanded the range with the Oi bell, a flat wrap-around handlebar bell that reimagined traditional bell design. Headlamps such as the Bandicoot and Bilby, the Scout bike alarm and numerous lighting series like Blinder and Cobber followed. Knog combines innovative technology with striking design across all its products.
Knog products are sold worldwide in bicycle shops, outdoor stores and online retailers. The brand is present in more than forty countries across all continents. The exact number of sales outlets amounts to several thousand dealers worldwide, complemented by the manufacturer's own online shop.
For bells, a choice can be made between the Classic and Luxe series, which differ in material and finish. The Classic version is made of black plastic, while the Luxe version consists of anodised aluminium. Both series are available in two sizes for different handlebar diameters and in several colours. The bright, clear sound is identical across all models.
