Focus – German Engineering for Sport Bikes since 1993

Focus was founded in 1993 by Mike Kluge, the then Cyclocross World Champion, as a premium brand for sporty bicycles. The Stuttgart-based brand was established in cooperation with manufacturer Derby Cycle Werke in Cloppenburg. The name "Focus" stands for a clear focus on performance, innovation and riding fun. Trekking bikes were added in 1995, and Focus entered road bike production in 2003. The first carbon frames followed in 2006, and in 2008 the first time trial and triathlon bikes were developed in collaboration with engineer Andy Walser. Since 2023, Focus has been active again as an independent company (FOCUS Bikes GmbH). All bikes are still developed in Stuttgart to this day, while production and final assembly take place in Emstek near Cloppenburg.

Focus's first models were mountain bikes – six variants left the first production line in 1994. In 1995, Focus expanded its range to include trekking bikes. The first road bike followed in 2003. With the Izalco, Focus brought one of the first German carbon road bikes to market in 2006. Later additions included the Mares cyclocross bike, the Paralane endurance road bike, the Atlas gravel bike, and the THRON, VAM² and JAM² e-bike series. Today the model range includes road bikes, gravel bikes, mountain bikes, trekking bikes and e-bikes.

Focus bikes are sold worldwide through a dense dealer network in Europe, North America, Asia and Oceania. The brand is present in more than 40 countries and ranks among the best-known German bicycle manufacturers in the sports segment.

With Focus, you can choose between classic bicycles and modern e-bikes. All bikes are equipped with chain drivetrains from Shimano or SRAM; Focus does not offer belt drive. Singlespeed models are not represented in the current lineup. Frames are made from aluminium or carbon depending on the model. The colour palette varies seasonally and includes sporty finishes in black, grey, green, blue and red. Many models are available as either diamond or trapezoidal frames, so both men and women can find the right bike.
