Wax Instead of Oil

Still using a traditional oil-based lubricant? Then make sure to thoroughly degrease all drivetrain components before applying Slick Wax. This ensures the wax adheres properly, keeping your chain truly cleaner, quieter, and faster. With a small brush and Drivetrain Detox, degreasing is done in no time.

Apply one drop of Slick Wax to both the top and bottom of each chain link and let it dry for 3 hours. Repeat the process and add a second layer of Slick Wax. Allow the chain wax to dry for another 3 hours before testing it on your bike.

A chain treated with Slick Wax is easiest to clean using a dry cloth or brush—no degreasing needed. After about 300 to 400 km, simply reapply a small amount of wax as needed; one drop on the top of each link is enough.
